Glossary

The STEPDEX Help Glossary was originated by the IChemE/ IMechE Joint Working Group on EDI and includes updates from their Interchange publication. Additional entries are taken from the Computer Suppliers Federation Glossary on PDM/EDM. Also included are revisions specifically applicable to the context of Data Management within Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd. (FWEL), who were responsible for version 1.1. Version 2.0 of the glossary, which is available on this site, was revised and made available on the STEP community web server at Newcastle University in 1997. Work on an updated version of the glossary, reflecting recent developments within EPISTLE and the work on terms and definitions for ISO 15926 and ISO 18876, as been proposed as a future Interchange activity.
