1. Taken on the road at Lagnicourt looking north-west on the road into the village. My grandfather’s battalion would face attacks by the Germans coming out of Lagnicourt on the 21st March 1918.

What is left of Bradford reserve trench. Using Neil’s map with his position for photo 4, and the detailed map below, you can see pretty closely where this photo was taken. Not many yards north-east of this point is York Support trench. The CO’s report for my grandfather’s battalion refers to them being in this trench at one point in the battle.
