'Fire and
Fury' is a set of brigade level rules for the American Civil War and has
its very own unofficial web site.
I have written a number of scenarios for these rules. At present most of the maps are in ASCII. However, I am always in the process of updating the scenarios, and will provide a scanned, hand-hand drawn map for each one.
Wilson's
Creek (10th August 1861) Nathaniel Lyon attempts to catch a larger Confederate force in a pincer movement whilst they are encamped. Scenario updated 13th January 2001.
Pea
Ridge (7th March 1862) A Union force under Samuel Curtis finds a Confederate force under Earl Van Dorn in its rear, and turns at bay.
Perryville
(8th October 1862) Buell's Union army faces Bragg's Confederates in Kentucky.
Prairie
Grove (7th December 1862) Confederate General Hindman attempts to destroy a smaller Union force before its reinforcements arrive.
Pleasant Hill
(9th April 1864) Following up their victory of the previous day at Sabine Crossroads, Richard Taylor's Confederates attack Nathaniel Banks' Union army at Pleasant Hill.
Westport
(23rd October 1864) The climax of Price's Missouri raid, as Confederate cavalry attempts to defeat a Union force under Curtis whilst holding off cavalry under Pleasonton.
Bentonville
(18th March 1865) Joe Johnston attempts to isolate and destroy two corps of Sherman's army, as the Civil War draws to a close.
Two of these scenarios (Pleasant Hill and Bentonville) have been published in the Italian wargames magazine 'Dadi & Piombo'.
The Prairie
Grove scenario has been used as a teaching tool by Todd Elgie. Have a look
at some pictures
of the games in progress. Todd's class are lucky enough to be right
next to the actual battlefield.
Battlefield Vacations have a link to the Pea Ridge scenario on their tour-guide page. Thanks, guys.
