History of Psion Computers
v1.0
This database documents the history of Psion and non-Psion EPOC
(Psion-compatible) computers. It begins with the Psion Organiser I and finishes
with the last release, the netpad. In effect, a 17 year history is discussed.
The database was written on a Series 7 and is optimised for this device.
However, it works just as well on the Series 5 and Revo range of computers
(including the Diamond Mako). I have not tested it on the Geofox One, Ericsson
MC218 or Oregon Osaris, but I am sure it will be OK.
This database is very different to many others in the way that it includes
graphical images and brief reviews. A picture (colour if you have a Series
7 or netBook) of every device is included. Images are even included
in the Glossary of Terms. A review of each device is included (100-300 words),
as are a couple of articles detailing Psion's decision to withdraw from the
organiser market. The future of Psion computers are also discussed.
Due to the graphical images, the database is fairly big (543K when unzipped).
For this reason, I have made two versions available. The other (74K when
unzipped) is the same database without the images and is aimed at those who
are trying to conserve memory or who are short of disk space.
Users of the Revo, Revo Plus and the Diamond Mako will
need to install SKETCH on their palmtops in order to view the images. SKETCH
is free and can be downloaded from
www.epocware.com.

Download your chosen file, unzip and copy (NOT 'copy and convert') the DAT
file to either your C or D drive. If for some reason the download does not
work, contact me at

and I will email you whichever version you want. Alternatively, if the above
