Series 7
Software
Alot of the software developed for the Series 5 works with, or has versions
available for the Series 7. However, some applications function better than
others when installed. I have detailed a few programs that Series 7 users
should not be disappointed with. Check out the useful links on the left of
this page for others. |
Collins CoBuild English Dictionary
A commercial dictionary that is really useful. However, it is expensive
and a BIG download. That aside, I believe that it is an application that
alot of people will consider and it looks really good on a Series 7.

A utility which has been designed specifically for the Series 7. The application
allows you to change the menu and background colours from the Control Panel.
Not essential, but I love it!

An excellent Solitaire card game that is ideally suited to the Series 7 colour
screen. Easy to play and addictive. Certainly one of the best games for Psion
devices.

| nSwitcher
For those who have more than one application running at any time, nSwitcher
is extremely useful. Tiny icons of open programs are displayed in the top
right hand corner of the display. Just click on one and it takes you immediately
to the application. Freeware and a must have.

Browser
The latest version
of the browser is v5.13. It has come a long way since it was first bundled
on the PsiWin CD. Excellent and certainly one of the best programs written
for the Symbian/EPOC platform. A must if you use the Internet regularly as
it allows fast and secure browsing. Opera is an absolute pleasure to use
on the Series 7.

Neuon's version of the arcade classic
is excellent and uses the Series 7 screen well. This is shareware and real
fun to play.

A shareware suite of card games that are really handy to have in order to
pass time. Includes Solitaire and Twenty One. It looks good and plays well
on the Series 7. Colour makes all the difference.

with your Series 7, the latest version can always be found on the Psion site.
Current version is 2.3.3, which allows Windows XP connectivity and synchronicity.
A big download though - 25MB. Series 7 users should be aware of the

A comprehensive contacts manager.
Closely mimics the highly acclaimed Act! contacts manager and
is certainly recommended. Not only will RMRContact help you to manage a list
of your contacts (Companies, colleagues, friends etc.), but it also provides
a quick and easy way to assign various tasks you need to complete with them
against their name or details.

In my opinion, the best card game
that there is for the EPOC platform. Excellent viewing (full colour) and
every device should have a copy. This is the Solitaire game that every Microsoft
Windows user will be familiar with.

A charityware astronomy program.
I use it - but this program is only for those who are into the planets, stars,
and amateur astronomy. Billed as a "Pocket Planetarium". It looks good in
colour and utilises the Series 7 display very well.

Force
Terra Force is a great freeware
3D combat game. Defend the combat zone against the enemy tanks. One of the
best games for the Series 7 and playing it in colour is a real treat.

One of my all time favourites. Revo
users will be familiar with the gameplay as it as its similar to Cascade,
which is bundled with the device. A "must have" for Series 7 owners and a
special version is available for the device.

A route planning package for Europe.
Detailed maps and allows you to plan different routes from A to B. GPS is
supported. CF disk installation is recommended due to the size of program.

A commercial route planning software package, Street Planner
has detailed maps of just about every town in the UK. Excellent for travellers,
with detailed views and plans of each town that you chose to put on your
Psion. CF disk installation is recommended due to the size of program. It
works really well and can be viewed as it should in full colour on the Series

A very comprehensive contacts manager
plus a whole lot more. Feature-packed and designed for the 'road warrior'.
Excellent if you need to maintain a comprehensive list of companies and contacts
within them. Ideally suited to the Series 7, but works on other Psion devices
