Abstract Malcolm Griffiths
23rd September 2004: Symphysis pubis dysfunction.
I was first introduced to the concepts of symphysis pubis diastasis by physiotherapists and have since developed a clinical interest and have had the opportunity to draw on the cases I have seen.
My talk will be based on that experience and a review of the literature and will aim to cover:
- Anatomy
- The role of relaxin
- Prevalence
- Aetiology
- Presentation, morbidity and patterns of disease
- Obstetric Management
- The problem of the sceptical obstetrician
Copies of slides will be available, as will a bibliography.
