The Royal College of Midwives The only trade union and professional organisation run by midwives for midwives. It is the voice of midwifery, providing excellence in professional leadership, education, influence and representation for and on behalf of midwives. MIDIRS The central source of information on maternity care and childbirth for midwives and others.

AIMS Offers information, support and advice about all aspects of maternity care, including parents rights, choices, etc.. Plus information leaflets and a quarterly Journal.

The Independent Midwives Association Independent midwives are fully qualified midwives who, in order to practise the midwife's role to its fullest extent, have chosen to work outside the NHS, although supporting its aims and ideals.

The Community Practitioners' and Health Visitors' Association This is the UK professional body that represents registered nurses and health visitors who work in a primary care or community health setting.

The Association of Radical Midwives An association of midwives, student midwives and others in the UK committed to improving the maternity care provided by the NHS, and a support group for people having difficulty in getting or giving good, sympathetic, personalised midwifery care.
