Extracts from Parish Records - Egton

(This page was last modified on 25 September 2004)

Note that there are several sections below. Though these overlap and duplicate it is wise to check all.

The text below was, I think, provided to me by Judith Werner in July 1998. Judith has an interest in the FRANKS along the Esk.
Egton Parish Registers 1628 to 1812 from a 1928 handwritten transcription of originals made by Thomas Woodwark of Whitby (LDS film #0098531). Many families are noted in the register as papist.

Northallerton - Egton Burials 1813 to 1936. This is from a transcription complied in May 1989 by M Denham, from three books which are photocopies of the original registers. I checked the transcript against the photocopies up to 1872 and found no errors.
There is a common cemetery at Egton. "RC" means Roman Catholic and "BCO" means By Coroners Order.  The records below have been checked against photos which I took of the same records held by Rev David KING of Egton in September 2004.
