My painting and drawing started by being exactingly representational. My initial training involved reproducing medieval decoration and illumination.

My studies of the human form, especially whilst moving and dancing, has led me to see beauty in the immediate, unworried line. I think we capture the true essence of an individual in the precise and simplest of marks.

All paintings shown are either life size or 1m x 1.5m. None took longer than 40 minutes to create.
