However, on an alarming note, Barrett clearly had a bead on Tyler at at least one point during the encounter, and made no attempt to fire. Immediately following the incapacitation of her comrades, she surrendered. Tyler immediately set off to relocate Alice, leaving myself and Romero to tend Ms. Shaw and guard Barrett. We had called for an airevac, which was now only a few minutes away. In the intervening time, it became clear that Barrett had orders not to kill Tyler. Ms. Shaw appeared to be in a stable condition, and was duly picked up, along with Alice, whom Tyler recovered. Barrett was left at the scene. Alice later died in surgery. Ms. Shaw made a full recovery.
In conclusion, the mission was at least partially successful. We recovered the Saurian, although unfortunately its wounds were to severe for it to live. However, had it been unharmed, it is at best dubious as to whether we would have been able to recover it. I do, however, find myself and Tyler in disagreement over the best course of action with regards to Barrett. I see no reason why we left her at the scene. Two more prudent courses of action, either drugging her and bringing her in for interrogation, or simply eliminating her seem more practical, and would deal with the severe threat the woman represents.
