Important News - Please Read:

09/09/2007 - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, could we remind all parents and players that they should not park or "drop off" on the bottom car park at Belgrave High School but to use either the top car park or indeed the large space available round the back of the school buildings to the right as you drive in which you can access by following the drive in, turning right when you get to the school building in front of you, and then turn right again immediately before the fence. Please leave all access areas open at all times. No one should park on any of the grassed areas on the school premises as they are likely to cause damage to these areas. Your help in this matter is much appreciated. This is a safety issue, if we continue to have cars travelling up and down the driveway and parking down there with lots of young children running around, there will be an accident

19/06/2008 - Cottage Farm Rangers will, from next season, have a new men's team who have been accepted to play in the Tamworth & District Sunday Football League. James Dyer will be running the team, anyone interested in playing should contact him on 07794 663247.

The Under 15 Girls team are looking for additional players to play in the Central Warwickshire League as are the Ladies reserve team who will play in the County League, anyone interested, please get in touch with John or Debbie Lewin on 01827 331086

16/06/2008 - The Ladies enjoyed a successful trip up to Birkenhead for their annual beach tournament and for the first time, both teams made it through to the semi finals. Unfortunately, the organisation was pretty poor and so when they then decided to run quarter finals (which was not in the rules) as there had been a mix up with some of the results and because it was 7pm and we had been there since 11am, we decided enough was enough and decided not to proceed. But the ladies did the club proud, apart that is from putting up the beach tents!!! Nat, did you catch that ball you chased down the beach!!

08/06/2008 - The Under 8 FC team had another good day when they finished Runners-Up in the Atherstone on goal difference.

07/06/2008 - Congratulations to the Under 8 FC team who won the Wilnecote Wanderers 6-a-side tournament today without conceding a goal in the whole tournament. Well done lads!

27/05/2008 - Cottage Farm Rangers FC Under 8's for season 2008/2009 are looking for two goalkeepers for two teams being entered into the Tamworth Junior League. Both Keepers need to be 7 years old now and under 8 years old on 31 August 31 2008. The teams are currently being coached by five FA qualified coaches and all that is required of those players is that they enjoy playing football, want to play in goals and can commitment to playing Saturday mornings and training once a week during the season (September to April). If you are interested then please contact Charlie Hembry on 07903 939107. At present the teams are training Friday evenings 5.35pm to 6.35pm at Dosthill Boys Club, Cadogan Road, Dosthill.

25/05/2008 - The Under 16 Rangers, with a depleted squad, put on a tremendous performance today to win the John Schofield Memorial Trophy against Atherstone Rangers today in a game I'm sure John would have really enjoyed. After being 1 - 0 up at half time through a Jack Clements goal and then 2 - 1 up thanks to Eddie Poultney and 3- 2 down, a Jack Clements penalty took the game into a penalty shoot-out. it went to the 9th round of penalties before it was decided 7 - 6 with some excellent penalties. The penalty scorers were: Jack Clements, Eddie Poultney, Luke Turner, Thomas Dobson, Lance Bishop, Kieran Darkes and Rob Booth. a really cracking game with some tremendous football played by both sides. Well done lads, I'm really pleased and very proud, I told you you could do it!! .....Photos

25/05/2008 - The main Cottage Farm Rangers Presentation Evening was held last night at the Tower Suite, Drayton Manor Park. Twelve of our teams had their trophies presented with the other six already having held their trophies presented at two other Presentation Evenings. Every one seemed to enjoy a really good evening. A huge thank you to Julie Edwards who has had major problems getting all of the trophies together due to a serious illness of our supplier. With the final trophies arriving about 90 minutes before the presentation, Julie's hard work and blind panic(!!) paid off but without her hard work and that from the suppliers, the evening probably would not have gone ahead. Thanks a lot Julie!!

18/05/2008 - The Under 16 Rangers lost their Ronald Smith Memorial Trophy Final to League Champions Elford Boys.

13/05/2008 - Two goals from Thomas Weale and one from Eddie Poultney were enough to see the Under 16 Rangers into the Extra Cup Final in a pulsating and hard fought match this evening. Well done guys - are we going to be up for it on Saturday????? Most Recent Results

Abuse in Football

We are very fortunate at this club that we have very little trouble on the pitch caused by our players or indeed off the pitch caused by club officials or by supporters or spectators. We are very grateful to all of you for this and we want to keep it this way which we can do with your help.

Campaigns

Don't X The Line..........and...........Keep It Shut!.........and...........the FA has 3 pilot schemes

http://www.dontxthelinecampaign.com/

                                                        http://www.totalyouthfootball.com/keepitshut/

The F.A. are launching three pilot schemes in nine regions across England from January.

These are:

1. Only the team captain will be allowed to speak with the referee.
2. Roped-off areas will be introduced at junior matches so 'over-indulgent or abusive' parents cannot easily abuse referees.
3. All players and club officials will be forced to sign a 'memorandum of understanding' thereby accepting to abide by the standards of behaviour that will be expected.

We, as a club, intend to rope off the Small-sided games initially as stated above in 2 which will also give the managers room to work as they will be the only people allowed pitch-side of the rope. We also intend to produce a "Zero Tolerance Policy Card". We already have Codes of Conduct for Coaches, Players, Supporters and Team Officials alike as can be seen by following the links on the left of this page, so if we can all follow these, no matter how frustrated we get, and we do, then we can keep up our good record. Thank you for your support!

16/07/2007 - Cottage Farm Rangers want to encourage as many of their Coaches, Players and Parents who have access to the internet to complete the on-line Soccer Parent course at Soccer Parents CourseAll of those people who complete the course will be able to print out a certificate, and we would like them to get in touch with us (use the Mail to link below left) to let us know, and we will include their name of the Roll Of Honour page. Soccer Parent Roll Of Honour.

02/05/2007 - The sum raised from Sunday's John Schofield memorial game now stands at an impressive £1,142 which included over 110 paying adults at the gate. Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed and helped. Some pictures from the game are available by following this link.

23/03/2007 - Congratulations to Thomas (Dobbo) Dobson and Jack Dodd from the Under 15s and James Dyer, the Coach of the Under 11s, who have all just qualified as F.A. referees. They join a growing band of referees within Cottage Farm Rangers, namely Robert Booth, Kieran Darkes and Eddie Poultney from the Under 15s who qualified last summer and also Coaches Kevin Dyer and Charlie Hembry who qualified a while ago.

19/03/2007 - Congratulations to John Lewin, Stuart Aubury, Mark Livesey, Dominic Hinks and Jim Wright who have all passed their 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football course.

22/01/2007 - The F.A. has updated its guidelines regarding the taking of photographs and videos. See the Child Protection tab for details.

04/01/2007 - You may have seen the article on the front page of the Tamworth Herald regarding the new fire station potentially being sited on part of the paying fields at Belgrave High School. The plans as we understand them are that the fire station is going to be located where the Junior School pitches currently are so it should not affect our long term future at Belgrave. It could well be that some pitches may need to be moved around to fit things in and we may share pitches with the Junior School but that is all to be decided.

13/10/2006 - A small feature in this week's Tamworth Herald - Rangers are on the up - Cottage Farm Rangers Football Club are going from strength to strength with teams running from under-eights to under-15s level as well as girls teams.
The club also runs a very successful Football Development Centre for boys and girls aged between five-seven-years old,. The centre takes place in at Dosthill Boys Club in Cadogan Road in Dosthill every Friday between 5-6.45pm
The centre is run by qualified FA coaches who have been subject to CRB checks. For more information about the club, call Charlie Hembry on 07903 939107 or visit www.cfrfc.co.uk.
