Citadel of Calvi Beach at Ile Rousse
We went to the French island of Corsica and stayed right outside the city of Calvi. The citadel and port is to the right. We went to the beach at L'Ile Rousse, the next largest town north. It was a pretty beach and a cute town.
Bonifacio Forest
Bonifacio Forest
Next day we went to the Bonifacio National Forest and climbed around in the river valley. There were many opportunities for climbing and swimming and the surroundings were magnificent.
Calenzana Hovercraft
We stopped for a drink in Calenzana and this cafe was just all about there was in town. It seems to me that Don Corelone must have grown up in a town just lik ethis! Just for fun we rented a hovercraft for a half hour. Really. Here's a photo taken at great risk from the craft itself. Master Grant was the pilot for most of our trip...!
We went to the village of Feliceto to have dinner at a famous restaurant, "Osteria U Mulinu." The thing that makes it famous is that its patron tosses you your plate, then tosses you your food, and gives you all the wine you can drink (and makes sure you drink it, as seen above)! Here is the famous Joseph Ambrosini. He sings, dances, performs magic tricks, and drinks a staggering amount of wine!
