COMMISSIONING
FURNITURE
Why do people commission?
Commissioning has now become a more accessible
and affordable alternative. The more individual we become, the less
our requirements fall within the standard of what is being offered.
This is when commissioning becomes the practical solution, giving
you the freedom to express what you want and turning that into reality.
Commissioning a piece of furniture should be the desire to acquire
a possession of quality, beauty and functionality, rather than just
being an investment.
The process of commissioning a piece of
furniture
Commissioning from JD Furniture & Design is
straightforward and my clients find the experience very rewarding.
Initial discussions will be to define the purpose,
dimensions and preferred timbers of the proposed piece(s), including
any particular requirements and features that it should possess,
making each piece of furniture unique. Normally this initial discussion
occurs within the client’s home where further information
can be added to the design brief.
The design brief allows me to produce drawings,
a written specification and a quotation for the piece(s). Upon presentation
of the drawings, to ensure the final piece of furniture meets their
exact requirements, the clients may specify any necessary changes.
"the skill and flair with which you've turned our idea and sketches into something tangible, is just amazing."
