Mid-Stream were formed in 1967 by Robin Melville after the break up of Billy Steele and The Strollers
The lineup was Dave Wishart on lead guitar and vocals, Shaun Kelly on bass, Dave Hogg on organ, Fraser Hogg on trumpet and sax and of course the leader Robin Melville was on drums. Dave Wishart and Fraser Hogg had previously played with the Phlok.
The lifespan of the band was from 1967-1970 covering 320 gigs - which were plentiful at the time. Notable venues were Banklands Youth Club in Workington which was a regular Tuesday spot, plus village halls around Penrith and Kendal areas, The Towbar Inn Nethertown, The Palace at Maryport and further afield the Warrington and Wigan area, notably Wigan Casino.
