The Palace Ballroom Maryport |
The Palace Ballroom in Maryport (now the civic hall) was one of West Cumbria's major venues in the sixties. This is illustrated by the many big names listed below. Most of the support bands were Cumbrian and appear on this site. The Palace is now up for auction and probable demolition. (see the final exhibition)
The schedule below has been compiled and kindly supplied to us by Robin Melville, who as the drummer with Billy Steele & The Strollers, was present at many of the gigs listed.
