Intro:
Flight news, views and index. Welcome!
Attack On The Innocent
Black Day:
We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the American people following the terrible events of September 11th, 2001. Our hearts go out to all those directly affected. The individuals responsible for these actions have proved they are evil, full of hate and completely worthless. They have brought death and suffering to countless numbers of innocent people. They have achieved nothing more.
Useful Up-data
List Items:
We've re-launched Flightboard. We've dusted it down, polished
it up and got rid of all those old messages (most of which were concerned with extrapolating the square root of an invisible number whilst under the influence of
methylated spirits). There's some new lyrics on
the Words page and
a Search engine so you can find out exactly how
many times we've used the word 'love' on this site.

New Releases:
The new album has taken shape lyrically with the sounds just starting to emerge. Bill has written something like 20
sets of lyrics, whilst David has also contributed lyrics. Paul is beginning to create the 'sonic landscapes' for the album but the
music is still very much in its infancy. This album will be different from its predecessor in both sound and style whilst
retaining the very essence of Flight. ETA - sometime in Spring / Summer 2002.
Live:
We're planning to play live locally, but there's nothing concrete as yet. We've been rehearsing a mixture of tracks from our
first two albums, plus some cover versions of classic songs. Currently being rehearsed are: Adored, Endless, Fiction Romance, Desire, Desolate Man,
A Movement A Heartbeat, Kingdom, The Ocean and Live Forever. Added to this are cover versions of David Bowie's 'Heroes',
Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb' and Joy Division's 'Shadow Play'.
Seeking Sanctuary:
In our continuing aim to expand Flight's presence throughout the UK, we are now receiving much needed assistance from those awfully nice people
at Sanctuary Management in Watford. Sanctuary
are Julie Gocher
and Alan Stewart and it will be their task to raise the profile of Liverpool's finest band
in the South. Sanctuary already look after industrial synth-rockers CORE, for whom Bill played on their version of Numan's
'Praying To The Aliens', and it was their work for them that prompted Bill to approach them. Already fans of Flight, they've accepted and so here's
hoping their enthusiasm can open up new avenues!
Astrakhan.com?:
Strange but true. Our new album, '5 Days In Astrakhan', has mysteriously taken on a life of its own. Not content with our promotional efforts, it has decided to generate a Web site
of its very own.
You can check out the results by visiting www.astrakhan.org.uk right now!
More Astrakhan Stuff: Need a mouse mat for your hamster? Well, we've got some quality
'5 Days In Astrakhan' related merchandise available
right here (courtesy
of CafePress). Also, there's a brand
new track from the album up on the music
pages. Desire is difficult to categorise, but hard to ignore!
Purchase Our Products: As befits a musical coalition within a capitalist society, we feel it is
right to urge you to purchase our products. If you find this materialistic request hard to resist, you can now visit
the Flight Emporium and
invest in some quality goods for your home and office.

Thoughts Trapped Inside:
Sales of the album are doing OK, but we need more! So
get those credit cards out and make us millionaires!!! Seriously, thanks to
everyone who has bought the album so far...and to those thinking about it: hurry up and do it !!

Five Days In Astrakhan:
Well, the new album has finally been released. Providing you like powerful driven music, with a hybrid mix of the organic and electronic, then
this CD is for you. As you'll
see if you visit the Words page, a distinctive common theme has also emerged. This new album explores the deeply emotional territory of personal relationships...and
no dark pages are left unturned.

Track: One Little Voice
Running Time: 4:40
The deep lying instinct to raise a child eventually rises to the surface. Simply following that instinct
isn't easy anymore. There are compelling reasons to resist. Is it really fair to introduce another innocent
mind to the dangers and corruption of modern society? In the end you just have to hope and pray your child
will somehow remain immune.

Fact File
'Live Forever' is hard to describe. I'd like to talk about hamsters instead. Ok, that's a bad idea. This song has it all: It's quiet and loud, subtle and
heavy and it's dark but rather bright at the edges. Got it?

'I am there, I see it all. Just watching as the shadows fall'.
If you want to be there too, then you'll need a copy of our brand new album. Please

'Fiction Romance' is a real mover and shaker of a song. If it had a motto it would probably be: Why use a drill when
you can fire a missile? It's difficult to argue with that kind of logic, wouldn't you agree?

'Firewall' was the first track released from our new CD, Five Days In Astrakhan.
It is a fast, dynamic piece of electronica laced with biting guitar. Whatever you do, don't
turn it up too loud! This will help ensure your neighbours like you and bring you gifts.
Our deeply Gothic track, 'The Dark', is becoming rather popular with the music press: "The Dark questions faith, and
yet raises the spirit at the same time." Karen Sharp, Soundwave
In an ideal world we would have recorded One Little Voice in the womb, but we didn't think there would be enough room for the drums.
