Rocky outcrops top networks of tall basalt and granite walls. Stratified hues of brown and red show millions of years of sedimentary activity. Enormous rock pillars and arches have been left by erosion. Huge scattered bones denote the location of a dinosaur graveyard. Gnarled trees and multitudes of cacti provide vegetation. The violet skies are subject to sudden storms. The undulating, rough terrain rises to a plateau as you approach the savannah.
