ACCOMMODATION
Our customers can expect a high degree of service and comfort.
We cater for couples, or single people who like a large bed! We can accommodate a maximum of six people; two in one double (ensuite) downstairs and two double rooms upstairs, not en suite (one with two single beds), but we prefer to let to one family at a time. We have a 'Z' bed for use by an older youngster downstairs if this is preferred.
The downstairs accommodation consists of a large living room with its own front door opening onto the market place. This is the view from the front door..........(click on images for better view)
and this is the same view from the living room

As you can see, the house is old, dating from Tudor times. However, it has been changed over the years; the incorporation of a bay (circa 1910) at the front, which extends the whole length of the house, results in light and airy rooms. This thinking was applied to the bedroom where a six-panel french window opens out onto the garden.
The downstairs bedroom is accessed through curtains from the living
room. There is a small lavatory and washbasin off the bedroom and a substantial shower
cubicle is adjacent.
You are welcome to enjoy the small garden area. There is a swing hammock on the terrace and a very small pond under the willow tree.
The living room is well appointed with seating for six around an inglenook fireplace. There is a large TV with five terrestial channels and a video (all PAL). There is a dining table with two benches, excellent for working or (for children) playing on when not being used for breakfast. A fridge and microwave are for your use. Milk, fruit and tea/coffee are supplied. We serve a full English breakfast which consists of egg, bacon, sausage, (or vegetarian equivalent), fritters, mushroom, tomatoes with toast. Start with grapefruit, cereals (choice of at least six), fruit juice and finish with toast and our special marmalade. We offer a choice of teas and ground coffee as required.
Log fires are very welcoming!
The house used to be thatched (picture taken circa
1920)
and is much altered today!
The situation of the house in the Market Place is clear from this aerial view
Hingham is 14 miles west south west of Norwich; whilst the road is winding in places, there is no town or village between Hingham and Norwich,
Norwich, a 'fine city' dates from medieval times. It used to boast a different church for each week of the year and (presumably for another audience) a pub for each day of the year. However, it still has a varied mix of city attractions including a shopping mall, nightspots, excellent restaurants, river entertainment and museums, two cathedrals, theatres and we could go on.......
