Three databases have been created which may be of interest/use to Aston Old Edwardians. Thanks to the sterling efforts of Tim Watson (Aston 1972) each is available in two formats. Just click on the one you require.
Both editions of the school's Centenary Book contain lists of pupils extracted from the Headmaster's admission records. It isn't always easy to find someone you are looking for from these because they are in chronological order, though largely alphabetical within each list. Here is an alphabetical list of the 11,500+ lads who went to Aston between 1883 and 1997:
N.B.: For most of us the date which appears in the database is not the date we started at Aston: it is the date we took the entrance examination.
The Centenary Book also includes a chronological list of masters/teachers covering the same period:
As if that weren't enough I have now created a database for the Honours Boards! As you know these are chronological, so the database is alphabetical. It covers the period 1887 - 2003:
The Honours Boards databases were created from photographs taken by John Bradford (Aston 1947) during a visit in 1994 from his home in Australia, and myself in August 2006. If (unlike John and me!) you are lucky enough to appear on them, and would like a copy of the photograph (or part thereof!), all you have to do is click here.
