David White (1938/9-1957/58)
It is believed that David, a trainee Merchant Navy officer, disappeared whilst ocean swimming when off duty in Lagos, Nigeria.
Tony Powick (1938/9-1959/60?)
Tony was killed in a road traffic accident while holidaying in France with Barry Upton, who survived his injuries.
Graham Sedgwick (1938/9-1995ca)
To my great shame I have no recollection of Graham at school, but those who have written to me about him do so very kindly. He died of cancer.
Chris Whittaker (1941/2-1999)
Chris died after a long battle with cancer. Son of an AOE (Vernon 1906) he lived in the same road as me, and we used to travel to school together.
John Clarke (1938/9-2003)
John lost his battle with cancer in July 2003, despite major surgery and chemotherapy. He was a county councillor in Surrey.

Peter Prole (1938/9-2003)
Peter died suddenly at his home in Newark-on-Trent on 9th December 2003. I shall remember him for his impish sense of humour.
John Murray (1932/3-2005)
John played Rugby for England Schoolboys, captained the 'invincible' Rugger XV of 1952/3, made the shields that to this day grace Big School and, more recently, was instrumental in getting all the school's trophies re-furbished. He died of cancer on 18th September but, mercifully, was spared a long illness.
David A Davies (1938/9-2005)
David died in December 2005. Since 1967 he had made a career in teaching in Canada, where he became Vice Principal of a college.
Barry J Upton (1938/9-?)
Barry, involved in the same accident that killed Tony Powick, survived that ordeal but is believed to have died more recently. No details are known, however.
Revd. Edward D Coombes (1938/9- 2007)
Edward came to Aston before going on to KES Birmingham (the 'High' school). Later he was Vicar of Beoley (Worcs.) and, from 1977 until 2004, Vicar of Edgbaston - a very prestigious post.
Michael Miller (1938/9- 2007)
Michael lost his 9 month battle with secondary liver cancer in the summer of 2007. When at Aston he lived at the end of my road, and we travelled together daily to school. After attedning Harper Adams Agricultural College, he became a market gardener, ending up with his own garden centre in Harrow.
