I have spent a lot of time over the years researching both my own and my husband's Family Trees. Here are just a few details of the information I have found .....

My paternal side of the family has been much easier to trace than my husbands family. This is because they came from a small Yorkshire village and it was easier to track them down on the census. I have traced them back to the late 1600’s. My maternal side of the family and my husbands family have been much harder to trace and progress with these is slow.

My research has taken me to some interesting places, including many graveyards, which I wouldn’t normally have visited. I have made contact with distant relatives and some of these have also been doing research so we have been able to swap information.If you have plenty of time on your hands then I can certainly recommend this interesting hobby.
