This site is devoted to games using NPOW rules for Napoleonic wargames.

The Following links are to articles on battles we have played using these rules. It amazes me looking at all this material how many games we have played

At Sheffield Triples

This is our favorite games show. Since 1998 the October Wargames Association and Friends have attended annually and have put on one and occasionally two games each year. Every year except 2002 there has been a large Napoleonic game.

Here are the games we have done:

The Battle of Dresden 1998   - the Drainage Ditch incident dates to this battle.

The Battle of Borrodino 1999 (no files as yet)

Battle of Bautzen 2000

Battle of Leipzig. 2001

Battle of Vittoria 2003

Battle of Aspern Essling 2004

2005?? We are thinking about Quatre Bras and/ or Ligny. We are happy to have players sitting in. If you have seen our games and fancy a go email me and we will get you involved.

At other shows/ at home

The battle of Bussaco

Battle of Ligny

The Battle of Leibertwolkwitz

The Battle 0f Waterloo

1813 Material

I had done some work on a 1813 campaign book. Alas “The Real World” got in the way and I did not get far. However here are links to other battle notes and maps:

Battle of Lutzen

Battle of Leipzig day 1 south

Battle of Hannau

Battle of Kulm

Principles of War

Here is a FAQ on Napoleonic Principles of War I have written.

In addition I have a Q's and A's file from the POW magazine that answers a lot of Napoleonic queries - usefull for those nitty gritty rule confusions.
There is also the Competition notes used at Roll Call Open Championships in June 98.
There is also the Competition notes that will be used at Roll Call Open Championships in June 99 These notes supercede the 1998 notes.

I also have a link to a good FAQ on The 19th Century POW rules by Aaron Liebling

Tom has given me these draft 2nd ed rules/ competition notes and new army lists. These were used in the pairs competition in Birmingham on 6th to 7th January 2001. Follow this link
