Principles of War are a set of Rules for 19th Century wargames. They are quick moving and feature a superb Initiative system which reflects flexibility of command and the difficult decisions that have to be made in a battle. POW are now a widely used rules set and are used in a number of wargames conventions in the UK.
A set of Napoleonic wargames rules based on POW have been written to enable Napoleonic games to be played. Tom Penn the author of POW has developed these and I have produced Army Lists. A great deal of help has been given us from other members of the October Wargames Association.These rules are now in print and available commercially from Tom Penn or from the trade people.They are due to be used in competitions next year.
