Lesson 1

Perttu soittaa Abbaa. Perttu plays Abba.	Paavo vihaa Abbaa. Paavo hates Abba.	Paavo muuttuu vihreäksi. Paavo turns green.

Perttu -- Soittaa = (he) plays -- Abbaa = (using) Abba
Paavo -- vihaa = (he) hates -- Abbaa = (using) Abba
Paavo -- muuttuu = (he) turns/transforms -- vihreäksi = (becomes) green

Lesson 2

Perttu juoksee ovelle. Perttu runs to the door.	Ovi on lukossa. The door is locked.	Eicca on löytänyt sellonsa. Eicca has found his cello.

Perttu = Perttu. Juoksee = (he) runs. Ovelle = to the door.
Ovi = Door. on = (he/it) is. lukossa = in the lock.
Eicca = Eicca. on löytänyt = (he) has found. Sellon(sa) = (his) cello.

Lesson 3

Antero on viileä jätkä Antero is cool.	Antero on TODELLA viileä jätkä. Antero is REALLY cool.	Perttu ei todellakaan ole viileä jätkä Perttu is really not cool.

Antero = Antero -- on = (he/it) is -- viileä = cool -- jätkä = dude (in this context)
really = todella,
Perttu = Perttu -- ei ole = (he/it) is not -- ei todellakaan ole = (he) is really not

Lesson 4

Eicca pitää hevosista. Eicca likes horses.	Paavo pitää moottoripyöristä. Paavo likes motorbikes.	Perttu ei pidä hevosista tai moottoripyöristä. Perttu doesn't like horses or motorbikes.

Eicca = Eicca -- Pitää = (he) likes (Also 'to like', basic form) -- Hevosista = out from the horses
Paavo = Paavo -- Moottoripyöristä = out from the motorbikes
Perttu = Perttu -- ei pidä = (he) does not like -- or = tai

Lesson 5

Eicca kiusaa Perttua Eicca teases Perttu.	Perttu ei pidä siitä että häntä kiusataan.. Perttu does not like being teased.	Eican pitäisi tietää paremmin. Eicca should know better.

Eicca = Eicca -- Kiusaa = (he) teases -- Perttua = eg towards Perttu
Ei pidä = does not like -- siitä = off it -- että = that (conjunction) -- häntä = towards him -- kiusataan = is teased (passive)
Eican = Eicca (genetive) -- Pitäisi = should -- tietää = to know (also '(he) knows') -- Paremmin = (to do something) better

Lesson 6

Eicca on väsynyt. Eicca is tired.	Eicca on nukkumassa. Eicca is sleeping.	Perttu tarvitsee uudet jouhet. Perttu needs new bowhair.

Eicca on väsynyt = Eicca is tired. on = (he/it) is. tired = väsynyt
Eicca is sleeping. on = (he) is. Nukkumassa = in the sleep
Tarvitsee = (he) needs. Uudet = new (plural accusative, usually nominative). Jouhet = horsehair (plural accusative, usually nominative)

Lesson 7

Pertusta on mukava soittaa lavalla. Perttu likes to play on stage.	Perttu villiintyy. Perttu gets wild.	Perttu pyörtyy usein. Perttu faints often.

Pertusta = out from Perttu. on = (he/it) is. mukava = Nice. soittaa = to play. lavalla = on the stage

ajattelee = (he) thinks. musiikki = music, eg towards music, about music. urheilua = eg towards sports, about sports
