A great performance by Sutton United who make they're way into the fifth round. The game started slowly with neither side having a shot on goal , but in the twelfth minute Andy Riley's challenge on Daley didn't seem to be too bad but was seen to be a bookable offence . Two minutes later Riley again fouled Daley and the referee gave Riley a second yellow card and sent him off. The red card left Sutton with a gap in their defence , Paul Hartford dropped in to fill the defensive gap with Danny Brooker and Richard Skelly playing in wing back roles , Newhouse fell back behind Winston to plug the gap left from Harford moving into defence . Sutton battled on with ten men for a few minutes until Jimmy Dack played the ball to Skelly who set off down the wing and whipped the first of his many excellent crosses into the area , the cross missed all the defenders and fell nicely for Danny Brooker to head into the net after twenty five minutes . Three minutes later Sutton's lead was nearly cancelled out when Howells came out to collect a ball when Clark got to the ball first and knocked the ball over Howllels but Richard Skelly was on hand to stop the ball from going in. United kept pressuring Forest Green and a free kick won by Newhouse was taken by Dack toward Laker whose header was deflected wide, the Dack corner fell to Brodrick whose looping header was too weak too beat the keeper. The forty second minute saw Jimmy Dack get brought down by a late challenge from Chris Burns , the referee saw this as a red card offence and both teams were even with ten men . Dack was down injured for some time after the challenge and when he got back up he was limping quite badly but his injury didn't last for long as he played the ball into the area to Sammy Winston who was able to hold the ball up for Dave Harlow to work his way through the Forest Green defence . Harlow eventually was tackled by the last defender but the ball rolled nicely for Winston to strike at goal but Perrin the Forest Green keeper pushed the ball away but Harlow ran on to the rebound and passed the ball to Skelly who was out side the area , Skelly once again knocked another good cross into the area for Aiden Newhouse to head low into the corner of the net for Sutton's second of the game on forty four minutes . At half time Sutton deserved the two goal lead as they had the better possession and had more shots on goal than Forest Green side who hardly had a shot on goal in the first forty five minutes .

Three minutes after the restart Sutton again attacked again with Harlow passed the ball to Newhouse who played the ball to Dack , Winston then made a run to through the middle of the defence which Dack saw and threaded the ball to Winston . Winston ran through on goal but his shot was fired wide. Three minutes later Sutton won a corner, which was taken by Dack. The corner was met by Laker who couldn't keep his header down and the ball flew over the cross bar . On the hour mark Skelly yet again ran down the wing and produced another good cross to Newhouse who controlled the ball and drove a shot through the defence and past the keeper but the underside of the bar stopped Sutton from extending their lead . Forest Green had to put pressure on the United defence to find some hope and in the sixty fourth minute Rob Cook crossed the ball into the United area which was met by Tony Daley but his diving header went wide of the target . Two minutes later United cleared a Forest Green cross to Newhouse on the half way line. Newhouse then hit a long ball to Winston who ran at an angle toward the goal with the only remaining Forest Green defender tugging and pulling at his shirt but Winston stayed on his feet to squeeze the ball past the keeper and the post from a tight angle the increase Sutton's lead to three nil. With fifteen minutes to go Forest Green kept trying to break the United defence down and another Rob Cook cross was hit into the net but the goal was disallowed for an offside offence. A Minute later Richard Skelly ran down the wing and into the area and rolled the ball passed the outstretched hand of perrin but the ball went inches wide of the goal and denighed Skelly a well deserved goal. With ten minutes to go Howells was brought into action for the first time when he was called to push a well hit shot from Daley over the bar. Newhouse headed down an eighty third minute corner from Dave Harlow toward goal but substitute Watson flicked the ball over from close range from his back heel. Sutton kept on trying for a fourth goal but they couldn't find the finishing touch, which could have given Sutton a five or six goal scores line. The eighty ninth minute saw another goal scoring chance missed as Newhouse received the ball on the edge of the area and decided not to pass to Watson and shot straight at the keeper. In the ninetieth minute Harford ran down the centre of the field and passed the ball to Watson who tried to place the ball under the keeper but couldn't find enough of a gap to beat the keeper. The ninety fourth minute saw the final action of the game as Skelly passed the ball to subsitute Nko Ekoku who put a good cross to Newhouse whose first touch fell to Watson to hit the ball over the bar.
