Ryman Premier League
2 Sutton United VS Purfleet 2
This was one of Sutton's worst performances all season. United failed to make the most of the possession they had and Purfleet were able to create more chances through out the game. On four minutes a deflected through ball found Paul Combs who managed to slip the ball under the keeper for George Georgiou to stab home from close range. Severn minutes later some nice play between Narty and Forrester set up Dave Harlow whose shot just went wide. With five minutes left Sutton had one of their only shots on target when Forrester headed home a Hartford cross to level the score. Joe Narty went close again for Sutton when he received the ball on the edge of the area and twisted round but shot just wide. In first half injury time Purfleet took the lead when a long throw was headed in by Paul Coombs .
The second half saw less action than there was in the first. United had the two best chances of the half, the first came in the sixty eighth minute when Bolt's through ball to Thompson who was able to slip the ball under the keeper but the ball was wide of the target. The final chance of this low excitement game came right at the death when a Sutton throw was knocked down to Harford who was able to lay it back to Thompson who strike found the top corner. Sutton should be grateful for the points as Purfleet had the better of the game.
Elation The relief of the final whistle.
Deflation Boring, Unexciting game
