The Old Sarum, Stonehenge Alignment
This diagram shows the relationship of several ancient sites and Salisbury Cathedral. In 1219 when
the cathedral at Old Sarum was moved, the site chosen for the new building was on the existing line
of ancient sites. The fact that all the existing sites are in a line could be a complete coincidence and
that fact that the planners may not have known about the line but just happened to chose a
new point on the line could also be coincidence. In any event the alignment is interesting and
