Overlord 2002
Abingdon

On Sunday 3rd March I went to Fitzharry's school, Abingdon, for my first wargames show of the year, Overlord. It was my second time at the Abingdon show, the first time being last year. Overlord isn't one of the bigger shows, however size doesn't count for everything. There was a good selection of traders present, including Peter Pig, Village Green, Grubby Tanks, to name but a few. Grubby are doing a nice range of 20mm WWII US paratroopers, which include a group of pathfinders with mohican haircuts and a paratrooper who has just landed complete with billowing parachute. There were plenty of demonstration and participation games to look at and play. On one participation game they were using Playmobile pirate ship and pirate island. The other thing I like about the show is you can actually get to see the Bring and Buy sale without using a periscope. It was a good day out and a nice start to my show-visiting year. As I am missing the Triples again this year my next show should be Salute.
