Overlord 2003
Abingdon

Once again Fitzharry's school, Abingdon was the venue for Overlord 2003. As last year this was the first wargames show I went to this year.

Ian Ransome, Russall Prior and myself all piled in to Walter Robinson's car and headed off to Oxfordshire. After avoiding a kamikaze vintage car driver, we arrived in one piece At Fitzharry's school in Abingdon. Once inside we set about the task of spending money.

The show was bigger than last year with 29 trade stands and 14 game according to the program. Games that particularly caught my eye this year were a Vietnam riverine game in the main hall and a charge of the light brigade game in the gym.

I had one gripe about the show this year. When we went to sit down and have a bite to eat and discuss what we had brought we couldn't hear ourselves think because of the noise a load of radio controlled tanks were making. That apart I think the show continues to improve and it will be on my calendar for next year.

One last bit of information for anyone that knows Walter Robinson, he still hasn't lost his fetish for carrier bag if you know what I mean.
