 Dave
Kirk gig Guitarist
Dave Kirk organised a great gig at the Richard Attenborough Centre, Leicester
- one set with all 3 of them and a Chris & Dan set. A quality concert.
Partys December
found the dynamic duo knee deep in private parties, and they had soem fun playing
nights of covers, many new to them.
Govannen
kept
them busy and there was a Celtic Fire CD launch at Borders Books which went as
well as their duo one had in the summer. they also had a wonderful gig at the
Kirby Twins Club in Leicestershire to a packed village hall of over 100..
 Christo
& Dan recorded on several tracks for a new album by former Govannen bandmember
Bridget McMahon.
Christo arranged and produced it and the album includes
a song he wrote especially for her. Apart from some original songs, the album
includes traditional Irish songs with a new modern twist. Bridget was a member
of the Govannen band before moving to live on the west coast of Ireland with her
young family.
The album has the working title Celtic Woman and will hopefully
be released in the next few months.

1st The Storm Thieves reissue and "lost"
albums out now on CD
 2
albums by The Storm Thieves have been released for the 1st time on CD. The Storm
Thieves - Chris Conway, Dan Britton and Dave Everitt were a trio of singer songwroters
most active in the 90s but who still gig occasionally today. A gig last month
at the Kirby Twins Club prompted the releases.
Endless Freefall from 1994
was a popular cassette-only release - a follow-up to their debut Up To The Sun
album which was released on CD last year. Hear soundclips and read more about
Endless Freefall here.
Long Time is the band's
"lost" album recorded around 95/6 in a posh studio in the countryside(unlike
their 1st 2 albums). The band drifted apart when Christo got ill around this time
and everyone then got into solo projects and the album remained finished but not
assembled or mastered. Til now! The recording features songs and instrumentals
(inc a 13minute amazing one never yet heard) Hear soundclips and read the story
behind Long Time here.
CC took his songs from
these albums and put them with his other Storm Thieves songs on his Storming CD
in 1997 but hearing them in context is great!.
The albums are available
from the Oblong Music page.

The Storm Thieves
reunion gig
 The
Storm Thieves played together for th 1st time in a year to celebrate their CD
re-release and the release of the "lost"album. CC writes in his
journal - "Last night's audience was incredible - a full village hall and
everyone listening to every little thing. It was special hearing that Storm Thieves
blend of voices again and we always have a great way with jamming. There's always
a slight bittersweetness in going back and revisiting those times - the music,
certain songs especially, take you right back. We had different heads on then
- etc. But overall it's nice to meet and play for fun's sake. back then we were
kindof hoping to "make it" or "get somewhere" or something.
Nice to leave that behind and just enjoy the music. Nice to see some faces who
remembered us from back then."

Storm Thieves Reunion 18th
Aug sees the Storm Thieves – Self, Dan Britton & Dave Everitt – reunite for a
gig at the Kirby Twins Club, near Melton. We made several albums over 10 years
ago – so far only Up To The Sun has been remastered onto CD – I;m going to try
to find time to remaster Endless Freefall and reconstruct "The Album That Never
Was" – our abandoned project from which some songs of mine can be heard on my
Storming CD. Kirby Twins is a great club and it should bea magical night.
