July 30Blaze Extend Partnership with High and Mighty InternationalThe Coventry Blaze will go into the 2002 / 2003 ice hockey season boosted by the news that a contract extension has been signed between the Club and last season's major sponsor. The team will continue to be officially known as the 'High and Mighty' Coventry Blaze after the international clothing retailer agreed a deal with the club that sees them continue the high profile partnership for a further season. As part of the deal, High and Mighty, Europe's leading specialists in supplying fashionable and classic clothing for big or tall men, will be taking advantage of a wide range of marketing opportunities with the Blaze including once again having their logo on the front of the team's new playing shirts. Founded in 1956 and with 26 stores throughout the UK, High and Mighty have now expanded into mainland Europe and they already have 11 major outlets throughout Germany, Holland, Belgium and Iceland. They are continuing to focus on developing their brand awareness in the UK and are looking forward to continuing to work with the Blaze to extend the part ice hockey plays within their marketing portfolio. John Murphy, Managing Director of High and Mighty International is delighted to be back on board with the Blaze for a second season :- "We really are pleased to be supporting the Blaze for a second season. We had great fun being involved with them last season and it was tremendous to be part of the professionalism, energy and enthusiasm that surrounds the Club and its supporters. "It's been great to see how the sport is developing and having been fortunate enough to have personally attended the Findus Cup Finals at Nottingham and the Play Off final in Dundee, it's clear that it's a great thing to be involved with. High and Mighty really are proud to be part of the Blaze team again". High and Mighty, whose brands include Valentino, Pierre Cardin, Kayak and Ben Sherman, will also see their logo set into the ice pad at the team's Skydome Arena home and will benefit from advertising boards, programme advertising and corporate hospitality facilities throughout the season. Blaze Chairman, Andy Buxton confirmed that news of the extension had been very well received by everyone at the Blaze :- "High and Mighty have been terrific for the club and have really helped us to increase our profile during the last twelve months. They signed up with us last season with a very open mind and I think they were pleasantly surprised by the amount of exposure they received and the general high profile of both the club and the sport as a whole. "It's naturally tremendous for our organisation that they want to continue to work with us and I'm sure that the partnership will be even more successful this time around. It's great news that we will be taking to the ice as the 'High and Mighty' Coventry Blaze again this season".
