August 19Pease Back in Multiple RoleThe "High and Mighty" Coventry Blaze are delighted to confirm that James Pease will be celebrating his call up into the GB squad with a new contract to continue his career with the Skydome based team. In addition, the Coventry based Pease will also be taking an even more active role with the junior development system at Coventry, both as Head Coach and also, now, as a member of the Management Committee. Pease has been steadily improving over recent seasons, and displayed great maturity during his limited opportunities last year. He is expected to play a larger part with the team this season as part of the massively re-organised defensive line-up. The 6' 2", 220lb defenseman has shown, over the summer, that he has the maturity and determination to succeed in his role with the Junior Club and also in his new position with the Blaze retail outlet inside the Co-Op Extra Superstore in Coventry. Coach Thompson confirmed:- "I think people forget that James is only 20 years old as his climb up from the juniors to a BNL regular seems to have been years ago. Peasey is still learning his trade and I feel he will show again that he is going to play a major factor in the future of this hockey club. He knows full well that he has to change his game and he will always get the support from the coaching staff as we believe he has a great future as a Blaze player." Pease will be wearing a new number on his shirt this year (4) to tie in with a major new sponsorship deal agreed with local bar, The Four Provinces (known as The 4 P's). This sponsorship deal will see the 4 P's providing the Blaze with their own venue throughout the year. The Blaze Bar is a dedicated bar within the Four Provinces and has been totally revamped and hockey themed. The players of the Blaze will be visiting the Blaze Bar after every home game and fans are always welcome. The 4 P's will also be sponsoring the Man of the Match awards and hosting a range of other hockey related events. Proprietor Kieran Connolly says: "The 4 P's is delighted to be part of the Blaze 'family'. We want players, officials and fans to feel at home in what we believe to be the only dedicated ice hockey bar of its kind in the UK. We feel that this is an exciting time for all of us."
