THE WEST LONDON GROUP OF THE RAMBLERS' ASSOCIATION
The Group was formed in 1955 and has a membership of around 800. All our members belong to the Ramblers' Association. Any Association member may join our walks without further payment and prospective members are welcome.
Our programme is produced 3 times a year (February, June, October). It contains walks from 5 to 12 miles on most Saturdays and Sundays but with some midweek events. Normally, we start from a railway station, break for lunch at a pub and return to a railway station. Weekends away are arranged as required, staying at guesthouses and hotels. Indoor meetings are held in central Ealing, see programme for details, mainly on the last Friday in the month.
The Group uses public transport for walks in Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Kent, etc. We endeavour to cater for everyone!
Part of the function of local groups is the care of rights of way. We are interested in paths in our local boroughs - Ealing and Hounslow - and in South Bucks an area of countryside west of London well known for its wonderful open spaces and quiet paths.
