| The Castle has been closed for all events from November 2005 - May 2007 whilst essential repairs and improvements have been made to the Castle and site. Whittington Castle Preservation Trust would like to aplogise to all our visitors for any inconvenience caused. 14th June 2007 - Official Opening of the restored Whittington Castle Following the completion of 18 months of repairs and restoration Whittington Castle will be reopened by H.R.H The Duke of Gloucester at approx 1.15pm on Thursday 14th June 2007. Sunday 10th June 2007 - Motor Cycle Show 10.00-5pm. Free entry. Modern and Classic Motorcyces. More details available from Mr John Lythe (01691 662991). 26-28th May 2007 - Medieval Re-enactment Weekend Regia Anglorum heritage based festival. Please see there website for more information here. Archery, Warriors in training, Equine Display, Living History re-enactments. Shows how a person in reign of King John lived in tented environment. 3 days of events, combatant members of the Society perform activities of a military nature. Battle re-enactments. Village encampment etc. Opening times: Saturday: 12noon - 4.30pm Sunday: 10.30am - 4.30pm Monday: 10.30am-4.30pm Entrance fee: £2 Saturday 19th May 2007 An Open Evening is being
held at Whittington Castle at 7pm on Saturday 19th May 2007. The aim of this event is to
give local people an early opportunity to look around the Castle now that the
restoration work is nearing completion. There will be an opportunity to ask
questions about the project as well as look around the Castle. Jamie Coath of Purcell,
Miller, Tritton who is the lead Architect working on the project will be in
