An Undiscovered Trek in Peru

For those who want to escape the crowds on the more popular treks in South America we have this itinerary to the Cordillera Central of Peru. The trek will be based in the highland city of Huancayo at a height of 3400m.

From here we will do two treks, both in areas very rarely visited by other tourists. The first of these will be a trek along the western slopes of the Cordillera Huaytapallana crossing several high passes and with several beautiful camps by mountain lochs. The second trek we will travel to the wee village of Miraflores, from where we'll do a week long circuit of the spectacular mountain Ticlla.

This trekking program is suitable for anyone who is fit and adventurous, and will particularly appeal to those who don't want their mountain holiday spoiled by the presence of many other large trekking groups. Travelling in areas of Peru unfrequented by other tourists can have great rewards - people are much friendlier and more open and you'll usually see much more of the real life of Peru. This trip can offer all these experiences as well as some wonderful mountain scenery.
