I am pleased

MORRIS! He is now the proud
owner of a Force Punch/Kick bag!
Title:
What do you like about the martial arts
& what has your training taught you so far?
By Luke Morris:
I like the
fun games we play as apart of our warm up as well as the exercises.
I enjoy
learning the different katas, kicks, punches, blocks and self defence techniques and
when we do sparring. I like it when I achieve
my new grade and when I am trying to achieve my next target. I am learning all the time, karate is fun as well
as hard work, I love doing karate. I did a
project about karate in year 6 and my teacher really liked it, she said she had learned
quite a lot about the sport from what she had read and gave me 42 out of 50! I like karate because I have something to look
forward to every week!
Karate has
given me more self-confidence in myself and in what I do.
I have started to get more involved in other sports and activities where as
before I would just hold back or wouldnt join in at all. When I was in year 6 it was the first time I was
chosen for the school football team and I feel karate has helped me to be more forward and
confident in what I do. This year at school I
have been chosen to be goalkeeper for the school football team. Karate helps me keep fit and has helped me to
loose some weight. I also find it easier to
talk to people now or to talk in groups where as before I wouldnt even put my hand
up to answer any questions even if I knew the answers, I now put my own opinions forward
and feel more confident in my own abilities. I
think karate has helped me improve my concentration too.
My training
has also taught me to appreciate what the sport it, you can injure people if it is used
stupidly and its not to be used to bully others, I also appreciate my Mum and Dad letting
me do karate and making the effort to help me. I
want to do karate forever I love the art and feel I have found something I am good at and
can only get better at.
