Local e-mail Addresses
To help fund the costs of running this Website, we can now offer your own "Speen" e-mail address. The cost to you will be £2.50 per year, and you will still receive your e-mail in exactly the same way as now, except that everyone will think your e-mail address is "firstname.secondname@SpeenBucks.org". We can only do this if there is AT LEAST 25 of you wanting it.
Let us know if you are interested and we will send details back by e-mail, once the magic 25 has been reached, we will go live. There will be a village e-mail directory as well. Click here to ask for details.

They will be re-opening on Thursday 8th August and, to celebrate their new start, Mike and Zena will be offering complimentary drinks to their friends in the village.

Congratulations to Martin Stockley and the whole Festival team for a fantastic Festival. This was a really varied programme of activities which enriched the lives of everyone who attended. Most events were sold out, so appologies if you were unable to get tickets. There will not be another Speen Festival until 2003 at least.

Welcome to the 21st century and the third Millennium. There was one of Keith's fabulous firework displays on the playing fields last night to mark the start of the 'real' new Millennium. The new Speen Marquee was also erected to provide a shelter for those attending. Perhaps this can become a local tradition for parties on the field every year.

There was the grand unveiling of Speen's new sign on Saturday 16th December 2000. The sign, designed by Peter Symonds, which first made it's appearance in his delightfully illustrated map of Speen, (a few signed and numbered prints of the map are still available, order here) was made at Gomms Forge. All the work was done locally and it is set in a plinth of Denner Stone. The plinth contains a copy of the electoral roll in the year 2000 and other artefacts. See Photos.
