"SPEEN CHOIR"
previously the Speen Millennium Choir

The Speen Choir (formerly the Speen Millennium Choir - but for obvious reasons now the Millennium is over it has been renamed!!) holds regular concerts in the village hall. These are usually well attended and fully booked up - (Cost is around £8 per ticket inclusive of a meal).
The last concert was held in the village hall on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th April 2001, entitled "All in the April Evening". There was a selection of music based around the theme of the season of Spring. It included choral pieces by Haydn, Morley, Novello, Vaughan-Williams etc.
Martin & Marjorie Stockley run and organise these concerts and put a lot of enthusiasm and effort in bringing the choir up to a high standard. All profits go towards the Village Hall.
Anyone wishing to attend any future concerts should in the first instance register their interest with Martin & Majorie Stockley ( Tel: 01494 488101). Likewise anyone wishing to join the choir should contact Martin or Marjorie (Rehearsals - Monday nights).
There will be a concert in June on 10th in the Church at Great Hampden to celebrate the completion of the re-roofing works to this historic building. Funds raised at this concert will go towards the church fabric fund to pay towards the overspend on the new roof etc.
