Surplus/Redundant Rings of  Bells


Reference 06112: A ring of eight bells, tenor weight 796kg (15-2-22) in F. The bells were all cast by Whitechapel (treble, 2nd, 6th and tenor in 1818; 3rd, 5th & 7th in 1928; 4th in 1987).
Expected availability: 2009

Reference 07120: A ring of eight bells complete with fittings for the back six, tenor weight 524kg (10-1-7). The two trebles are recently cast (Whitechapel 2004) and the back six were the front six from the pre-2004 ring at Writtle. The bells are available for re-use now.

Reference 07098: A ring of six bells of tenor weight 70kg (1-1-15) in A. The bells are all modern and incorporate 4 Taylor bells, one Gillett & Johnston and one Higby/Bowditch.

ONLY AVAILABLE FOR RE-USE IN SCOTLAND References 06012 & 06119: A total of 22 modern Gillett & Johnston bells that can form the basis of several rings of bells ranging from tenor weights of 900kg (18cwt), 550kg (11cwt), 300kg (6cwt) and 200kg (4cwt). Potential projects will be co-ordinated by the Scottish Association of Change Ringers. Please visit the SACR website for more details of the potential projects.
