The ninth edition of Dove's Guide for Church Bell Ringers no longer includes a section for rings of bells transferred to other churches. We have taken the opportunity to compile a list of transfers. The major part of the source material was taken from the eighth edition of Dove's Guide, and we are grateful for the help given to us by John Baldwin & Ron Johnston (the compilers of the ninth edition), David Cawley, Chris Pickford, Nick Bowdon, Tim Jackson, Mike Chester and many other individuals who have provided a wealth of useful information.
Our transferred rings list is compiled in a different way to that in earlier editions of Dove's Guide for we have excluded churches where the bells were removed from a church and then recast before being installed elsewhere. We have taken the opportunity to include the date (year) when bells were removed and installed and also added references to the information. Most of these are to The Ringing World (RW) and to Ringing Towers (RT). Some of the information, especially dates are tentative and we welcome corrections and updates. The information may be downloaded from our web site in Excel format. If you have difficulty in importing these documents or would like another format, e.g. Word or RTF then please contact us by email. Our ISP keeps deleting "old" files from our web-site without warning. Please contact us if any of the files disappear so we can replace them.
