Senior Athlete’s Meeting 2008
September 17th – 8pm

Agenda Items:
Cross Country Season 2008/2009:
- The usual concentration for Chiltern league was needed. Heather to lead females and possibly Henry for men’s?
- We decided to try and get some teams together for the national relays; Dick will organise men’s and Richard to organise the females.
- A note to all athletes to make sure that they make the team manager’s a wear if they want to be entered for the nationals or southern.
Road Running:
We discussed and agreed to bring back the road race grand prix. Richard to set up along with help from the regular road runners.
Everyone was informed that the Coombe Hill race was now going to be run by the club and lead by Nick.
After discussing the Ridgeway relay it was agreed that we would try and enter two teams. Danny Wizard was mentioned as a possible 2nd Team captain.
We would try again to enter a 12 and 6 stage relay teams in April.
Senior Women’s Athletics:
- It was discussed and agreed that they was still no demand to have a senior women’s team at the club.
Senior Men’s Athletics:
- After a long discussion on the state and situation of the men’s team, we decided that keeping the men’s team was the best option. Also that the group felt getting rid of the U20 league team would lead to more athletes to use the men’s league which in turn would be better for the club; the final decision for this would be made at the next young athletes meeting.
- Richard informed the group that he would not be continuing with managing the senior men’s team next year. Although there is no obvious replacement yet, Mark and Dan said they would organise the team next year.
A.O.B.
- It was mentioned that we could make the end of Season track meeting on a Sunday a yearly thing. This would include races like 150m, 300m, 600m, 1km, 3km and relays. Date to be confirmed.
- It was decided that more social events were needed. Richard will discuss this with the new social and fundraising officer.
