I was born in 1950 and developed a passion for drawing, painting and later on, model making. Not so much Airfix Kits and the like but scratch built models, props really. I taught myself to play guitar and had a record released in 1974 under the name of Jay Jefferson. You can find me in The Performing Rights Society Yearbook of 1978 alongside such names as Adam Ant and Kate Bush. I'd formed a partnership with an old school friend. He used to write the lyrics to all our songs and I the music. When the Beatles Anthologies came out and feeling rather inspired, I dug out some old tapes of our songs, had them burned to a CD and sent it to him for Christmas. He hadn't heard some of the rough demos for more than 20 years and wrote back to me saying that he rather felt that he was on a voyage of discovery.
