SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES:SUTEKH's GIFT aims to be a trans-genre magazine of short imaginative fiction. We want Horror, Dark Fantasy, Slipstream, Gothick, Futuregoth, Fabulist, Mystery, Chiller... any dark fiction brightly lit by the fires of a fierce imagination. We want submissions from enthusiastic, potent writers. It is essential that stories are gripping, and highly readable. We hope the stories will be fresh, surprising and a little 'off-kilter' - imagine a hybrid of Burroughs, Barker and Bukowski... (To get more of an idea of the flavour that we are seeking, take a look at SUTEKH's Recommended Reading list... and check out the links page.) Ideal length is between two thousand and six thousand words. Longer pieces will be considered if their length is justified by cracking content. Send query first for stories longer than 10,000 words or any proposals of serialisation. Manuscripts should be presented on single-sided, numbered, A4 sheets, stapled top left with a cover sheet carrying author name, contact details, title of piece and approximate word count. Always include SASE or International Reply Coupons for reply. (No SASE, no response.) Published authors will receive two courtesy copies of the issue in which their work appears. A payment scheme may be introduced at a later date, in which case, authors will be paid a pro-rata portion of available funds, according to published wordage. Rights remain with the author.
