Final (10 cars): 99, 98, 7, 34, 23, 172, 2, nof.
The Mr. Excavator Series Final saw the drivers line up in points order, which
placed 99 Peter Scott Jnr and 7 David Burton on the front row. 7 Burton took an
immediate lead from the drop of the green, with 99 Scott giving chase. 324 Simon
Turner barged past 98 Peter Scott to move into third, the race then settling
down, with 7 Burton taking the win, while 99 Scott’s second place secured him
the overall win in the points.
The heat was led by 45 Robert Sellar, before 34 Dennis Harris went ahead. 98
Scott and 42 Pete Blomfield spun on turn 3, as 45 Sellar was hit by 23 Lee
Pearce down the back straight, Sellar coming back to nearly send Pearce into the
fence on turn 3. 99 Scott got up 34 Harris’ inside to lead, as 23 Pearce clouted
324 Turner on turn 1 to nearly spin him, Turner coming back to spin and T-bone
Pearce on turn 4. Pearce was slow to get going again, with the yellow flags
coming out. The restart saw 99 Scott blast away from 7 Burton, and he went on to
take the win, while 23 Pearce spun 324 Turner on the last bend.
The Final was soon headed by 34 Harris, as 23 Pearce dished out a big hit into
turn 1 to send 324 Turner into the fence on turn 2. 98 Scott chased 34 Harris,
as 45 Sellar got it wrong into turn 3 and clouted the fence at speed, spinning
round nearly 360 degrees and end under the scoreboard missing a wheel in a big
crash. The race was halted, with Sellar seemingly alright, although he was taken
away in the ambulance as a precautionary measure. On the restart, 98 Scott soon
overhauled 34 Harris, with 99 Scott moving into second soon after. 99 Scott then
shoved his dad wide to take the lead, as 7 Burton then challenged 98 Scott for
second, with the bumper going in into turn 1. 521 Alan Gray then overshot turn
1, his throttle perhaps getting stuck, and he went into a post at high speed.
The race was again halted, with Gray thankfully climbing out unhurt, with the
race being called at this point with 99 Scott taking his second win of the
evening.
2 Litre Stock Cars – London Championship (21 cars)
Heat 1 (20 cars): 550 Rob Farrington, 114 Adam Ball, 317 Mark Sanders, 618 Fred
Kinsella, 350 Stuart Olding, 635 Pete Beldom, 41 Joe Parker, 134 Scott Hanby,
298 Ian Elms, 14 Daniel Langley.
Heat 2 (21 cars): 317, 550, 229 Robert George, 350, 618, 14, 114, 298, 31 Iain
Amos, 245 Jack France.
London Championship (19 cars): 550, 114, 618, 229, 158 Shane Davies, 350, 305
Billy Wood, 635, 317, nof.
121 Gareth Parker had an early spin in the first heat on turn 4, before 31 Iain
Amos caught the back of his car on a post exiting turn 2, sending him back into
the fence and collecting a post very hard. The post snapped, with Amos bouncing
back into the path of the oncoming traffic to get hit head-on by 352 Keith
Simmons and then 556 Phil Hampton, with the rest of field scattering in all
directions. The race was halted with Amos unscathed, and after repairs to the
fence the race was restarted. 550 Rob Farrington set the pace, as 158 Shane
Davies, 41 Joe Parker, 352 Simmons and 298 Ian Ems all had spin-outs. 14 Daniel
Langley hooked out 894 Mark Almeida and put him into the fence on turn 2,
Langley also going fencebound, as 550 Farrington was never headed and took the
win.
Heat 2 had a lively start, with 556 Hampton and 298 Elms having a big spin down
the home straight. 31 Amos spun out, as 158 Davies and 894 Almeida tangled to
hit the fence on turn 2, causing a stoppage. On the restart, there were a few
spin-outs, before a huge crash on the back straight saw 305 Billy Wood come wide
out of turn 2 and catch the fence with the rear of his car - Wood then collected
a fence post hard which sent the back of his car airborne, with 41 Parker
collecting Wood with the passenger side roof of his car, causing the roof and
“B” pillar to get heavily damaged. The race continued, with Wood managing to
limp his car to the infield. 121 Parker had a big crash as he hit a post exiting
turn 4 to ride the fence “racewall” style before managing to get back onto all
fours, as 317 Mark Sanders took the flag to end a lively race.
The London Championship had a hectic start with a closed up grid, with 41 Parker
trying to dive up the inside into turn 3, only to hit the marker tyres. He
started riding over them, before getting clouted from behind to cause more
bodywork damage with his boot lid getting wrecked. 550 Farrington set the pace,
as 31 Amos went fencebound on turn 3. 194 Steve Anscombe fenced 352 Simmons into
turn 4, Simmons scuffing round the wires in a shower of sparks to crash into
Amos, as 550 Farrington took the title and his second win of the night.

Final (36 cars): 594, 426, 41, 641, nof.
Another big turnout of Bangers, with an extra race added to the programme as it
was decided to split the field for the first two heats. The line-up included
South African SA13 Paul Isles, while 272 Dan Weathers had the night’s top car in
a Lada.
Heat 1 had a lively start, with 718 Stephen Elms-Ford having a big spin on the
back straight, before going into the fence on turn 3 a few laps later. 880 Paul
Middleton bounced off the back straight wires after spinning, as 709 Anthony
Brown and 372 James Potts were fenced on the pit bend. 272 Weathers spun on the
back straight and tipped onto two wheels, as 666 Jason Brown and 82 Michael
Maggs were fenced on turn 1, before 34 Barry Williams was punted into them. 534
Jon Mason was fenced by 83 Kelvin Maggs on turn 4, as 641 George Heath took the
win.
SA13 Isles was fenced on turn 2 early in the second heat, as a small pile up
formed on turn 4. 999 Nick Dingle was spun into 771 James Simpson at the end of
the back straight, leading to Simpson ramming Dingle on the infield. 353 Simon
Ruckes crashed into the fenced Isles off turn 2, before 995 Matt Gale collected
Ruckes and rolled onto his roof. The race was halted, with just 8 cars left for
the restart, but this saw a brilliant battle for the lead. 791 Ian Hall
initially led, but 426 Mark Pope hooked him out, only to then pull off, 733 Gary
Cole taking over. 791 Hall challenged Cole for the lead and spun him out, but
Hall spun also, with 737 Dan Greener now taking the front spot. He came under
fire from 887 Richard Moore to be spun on turn 4, but Greener made a quick
recovery and caught Moore on the back straight to spin him and retake the lead.
791 Hall lunged at 702 Danny Merrett into turn 3 in the battle for third, as 737
Greener took the flag to win a great race.
The all-in heat 3 started in a similarly lively fashion, with lots of spinning
out. 53 Danny Stevens heavily fenced 713 Lee Clinton on turn 1, as 34 Williams
ran in 724 Jack Penycate on turn 3. 753 Harry Stevens ran into the spun 62 Phil
Stevens on turn 3, as 34 Williams steamed 708 Matthew Cooke into the fenced 713
Clinton. A turns 1 and 2 pile up soon cleared, as 426 Pope came through for the
win.
The Final saw 867 Jimmy Morris crash out on the back straight with 887 Moore,
before 999 Dingle picked up 296 Paul Shepherd to steam him into Morris, and 272
Weathers turned into Dingle to spin him into 867 Morris. 53 Stevens T-boned 887
Moore on the back straight, as 709 Brown was fenced on the home straight and
recovered only to then get jacked by 83 Maggs. In the closing stages, 83 Maggs
was sent wide into turn 3, to T-bone and go underneath the already fenced 737
Rob Butler, Butler ending parked on Maggs’ bonnet. 594 Alex Giuntini took the
win to end a good session from the Bangers.Mildenhall – Sun 9th November

A full compliment of 8 cars each from the 9 teams present except for Incarace
who were missing one, while R117 Karl Dack was present but never made the track.
Startrax and GMP failed to send teams.
Heat 1 started with B57 Stu Cumming following in P331 Jason Jackson on turn 3,
and then again on turn 1. I362 Mat Godden spun on the home straight to take a
blitzing from T525 Wesley Starmer, Starmer going on to follow in M364 Darren
Feltham. B57 Cumming fenced P188 Matt Fuller, as the slippery turn 1 caused a
small pile up. M418 Ben Edwards took a hefty T-bone from R137 Jay Chilton down
the back straight, Chilton then T-boning the fenced A452 Anthony Sleeman on turn
4. The red flags came out to attend to Edwards, but unfortunately Chilton failed
to see them and went on to blitz Edwards on the back straight to leave him
dumped on turn 3. The result was declared at this point with SK128 Andy Lack the
winner, while RDC took an early lead in the points via R82 Wayne Quinn and R898
Andy Battle in second and third.
Heat 2 kicked off with I70 Simon Needle following in B93 Paddy O’Reilly on turn
3 leaving the latter well trashed, as a small pile up formed. SK349 Michael
Allard was stuffed into turn 3 and T-boned P188 Fuller hard in the passenger
door. A back straight jacking train then formed with B05 Carlos Perez weighing
into R401 Steve Hemmings, with R602 Cooper hitting Perez, the following pack
trying to get past on the inside, causing P530 Danny Stevens to crash hard into
the infield blocks. P188 Fuller went on opposite on the pit bend to meet SK349
Allard head-on, Fuller then taking a big hit from R602 Cooper to snap his Mondeo
estate. Cooper went on to stuff P530 Stevens, as T103 John Seex followed in I6
Mark Holdsworth on turn 1, with I222 Matt Logan claiming the win. With his
fellow Incarace drivers taking good places, Incarace shot into the lead in the
points.
Heat 3 kicked off with a small pile up forming on the home straight, with R137
Chilton blitzing P209 Tom Waller. I800 Tom Hannah fenced A719 Chris Storey on
turn 4, as P331 Jackson rammed B57 Cumming. Cumming T-boned P200 Wayne Holton,
as R82 Quinn went on opposite to meet I189 Richard Myshrall head-on near the
starter’s rostrum, Quinn backing off before ramming Myshrall again, only to then
take a T-bone from I70 Needle. R379 Adrian Clifton attacked P208 Jimmy Randall,
as R898 Battle claimed the win and closed the gap in the points on Incarace.
However, with SP741 Luke Parfitt taking second, Spedeworth’s points haul was
boosted and they took a slender lead, with Trackstar also moving into joint
second with Incarace.
The last heat saw a turn 3 jacking train with I70 Needle piling into SK349
Allard, and R401 Hemmings hitting Needle, Hemmings getting going again to hook
out P88 Josh Fuller. R379 Clifton stuffed P530 Stevens on turn 3, as R898 Battle
and P88 Fuller swapped hits. M363 Sam Trim T-boned B57 Cumming, with the track
then getting blocked on turn 3. The pack pushed through, with M517 Scott Weldon
getting stuffed into the fence, with R898 Battle claiming his second win of the
day. Spedeworth’s points were further increased via SP247 Lee Clarke’s second
and SP202 Mike Kilford’s fourth to take them into the lead on 46 points, with
RDC now sitting second on 40, while Trackstar (37 pts), Incarace (29 pts) and
Buxton (22 pts) also qualified for the Final.
The Final saw both Spedeworth and Trackstar fielding full sides, while RDC were
three down, Buxton missing four and Incarace could only muster three cars. The
weather had changed for the worse for the Final, with rain now falling, making
things very slippery. SP741 Parfitt was fenced on turn 4 by T902 Tony Lowther,
as T212 Richard Maryon followed in SP730 Deane Mayes on turn 1. R401 Hemmings
had a battle with B05 Perez, before Hemmings fenced B57 Cumming. R137 Chilton
jacked SP348 Sonny Sherwood, before a jacking train on the back straight claimed
a number of cars. R379 Clifton took the win, and with R82 Quinn and R898 Battle
following him over the line, it was a dominant display from the home side, who
ended way out in the lead in the points to take the title.
With the rain still falling, just 8 brave souls returned for the DD, including a
good showing of 4 PRI drivers. 401 Hemmings hooked out 807 Chris Murfin from the
off, Murfin going on to steam 530 Stevens and then blitzing 401 Hemmings. 208
Randall weighed into 379 Clifton, the latter then taking a hit from Murfin, and
further damage from 348 Sherwood. Sherwood then met Stevens head-on, with
Randall piling into Sherwood. Randall and Clifton had a head-on, as Sherwood
went on opposite to blitz Randall. Randall and 200 Holton attacked Clifton to
shove him onto the infield, Clifton then taking a T-bone from Sherwood. Clifton
got going again to meet Stevens head-on on turn 4, with Sherwood running into
Stevens, as Randall hit Clifton. Stevens and Clifton went out, leaving just
Randall to fight it out with Sherwood, the pair having a head-on. Sherwood’s car
appeared to have died, but he got it going again to chase Randall round and hit
him on turn 2 and steam him up the home straight. One more head-on finished off
Randall, leaving Sherwood the winner.

A good turnout of Saloon Stock Cars from all corners of the UK, including the
Westcountry, Scotland, and Northern Ireland in 22 Gary Lee and 991 Andrew
Stewart, plus German 303 Frank Loeff.
Heat 1 started with 311 Steve Newman collecting the infield blocks, as 369 Andy
Santry spun on turn 4 to get hit by the traffic. 317 Dwayne Powell hit the fence
on turn 2 to bring out the red flags. From the restart, 964 Kenny Peters set the
pace, as 115 Scott Aldridge swapped places with 499 David Aldous, before hooking
Aldous out. 360 Carl Waterfield overhauled Peters in the closing stages, but
Peters came back and found a way through on the inside to retake the lead and
the win.
22 Lee found the home straight armco early in heat 2, before 219 Luke Grief also
hit the home straight fence. 369 Santry then had a fire on turn 2 causing a
stoppage. 964 Peters headed the restart, as 468 Kelven Nichols spun into the pit
gate, and clipped the passing 156 Darren Goudy as he tried to get safe, causing
Goudy to nearly collect the fence as he snaked down the home straight. The
backmarking 106 Jamie Stafford took out 964 Peters on the back straight, 420
Ivan Street also hitting Peters into the infield blocks as he took the lead. 490
Ian Jarman overhauled Street after a couple of laps, and went on to take the
flag.
106 Stafford went hard into the fence on turn 1 as heat 3 got underway, as 190
John Wagstaff went into the home straight concrete blocks with 468 Nichols. 369
Santry had a rough ride as he went hard into the home straight armco, before
being collected by a couple of other cars to then take a further hit head-on.
The race was halted with Santry needing some attention, but he soon appeared to
recover, which was good to see. 390 Leyton Hubbert led the restart, as 149 Jamie
Sampson hit the fence to tip onto two wheels. 156 Goudy spun on turn 2, where he
was hit head-on by 149 Sampson, before 186 Todd Jones shunted 507 Paul Honeyman
into turn 3, the latter collecting the end of the fence in the break in the
armco to come to an abrupt halt, the Scotsman’s car getting shortened! 41 David
Maltby crashed in to bounce off Honeyman and ride along on two wheels at speed.
The race was halted at this point, with 149 Sampson in trouble on turn 2, the
result standing and 390 Hubbert the winner.
Heat 4 saw 964 Peters again set the early pace in a much quieter race, with 18
Jamie Clayton overhauling Peters with around three laps to run to take the win
and become top points scorer to earn pole position in the Championship.
It was raining for the ORC Championship race, with 18 Clayton having 390 Hubbert
for company on the front row, while row 2 was made up of 964 Peters and 428 Lee
Sampson. Clayton made a good start to lead, as 311 Newman moved up to second to
gain on Clayton, only to then spin on the back straight before putting in a
challenge. 368 Steve Santry then moved into second place, before 18 Clayton spun
on turn 4. Santry briefly took over, but Clayton quickly recovered and managed
to retake the lead in the difficult conditions. 964 Peters hit the pit gate to
spin, having been running in the places, before 18 Clayton spun on the back
straight. 368 Santry got back in the lead very briefly before 219 Luke Grief
went by, with 618 Stuart Shevill Jnr getting into second. On the last lap, 368
Santry hooked out Shevill on the back straight, as 219 Grief took the title.

battle in the pack over second place. 329 Reece Laybourn’s car started smoking
before he was spun by the traffic on the home straight. 175 Tyler Collison
clouted the fence on the back straight, as the battle for second place continued
between 382 Jack Foster Jnr, 134 Joanna Annison and 340 Wesley Freestone. 581
Billy Hull spun to take a T-bone, before getting going again only to run into
the spun 551 Georgie Boult Jnr head-on to put him in the fence. 171 Dean O’Dell

501 Jordan Murray hooked out 340 Freestone on turn 4. 134 Annison also spun on
turn 4, causing 555 Sid Madgwick to go hard into the fence as he tried to avoid
hitting her. The leading 220 Loveland was hooked out by 382 Foster on turn 4,
Foster going on to take the chequered. However, he was docked a place for
jumping the restart, the win going the way of 551 Boult.
The third heat kicked off with 381 Upson spinning on turn 4, as 971 Jason Cox
clipped another car to get his back wheels airborne. The race was halted to
check on Upson, with 382 Foster soon taking the lead on the restart. 576 Hackett
again lost a wheel to cause another stoppage. The next restart saw 134 Annison
heading the pack, with 551 Boult giving chase. Into the last bend Boult tried to
get up the inside, but Annsion held him off to take the win. After crossing the
line, 991 Ryan Hoskin spun 171 O’Dell into the fence on the home straight,
O’Dell bouncing off with the following traffic crashing in.
When the points were added up, 382 Foster was found to be top and so becomes ORC
Champion.

DD (30 cars): Laps: 331. Last Car: 507. Best Wrecker: 384 John Golden.
The line-up as usual included a good showing of overseas drivers with a number
of continental drivers from Netherlands and Belgium, while there was one lone
Northern Irelander in 160 Davy Patton, plus South African 13 Paul Isles.
The number of cars was well down on previous Firecrackers, but it was still a
quality line-up – and probably still one of the best at any of this year’s
meetings. A lot of the field were Jag XJs, the pick of these being 460 Lewis
Barber’s Series 2 coupe. 75 Steve Thacker, 242 Ricky Korpiela, 268 Paul Ambro,
318 Tony Citro, 655 Matthew Laws, 710 Sam Topley and 847 Mark Burbridge were all
in Mk2 Granada limos, while 105 Billy Standing was out in the lone Mk2 hearse.
Just two DS420s were raced by 999 Mario Dijkhuizen in a limo and 39 Steve Moore
in a trademark hearse, while 40 Ben Reeder had a Mercedes 500. There was a good
showing of American beef with 18 Darrell Page in a Dodge Aspen, 57 Gunter van
den Broeck, 119 Mario Waterschoot and 592 Mark Marchant in Caddy Fleetwoods (the
former two being limos), 73 Frederick de Witte and 342 Carl Davis both in
Oldsmobile 98 Regencys, both of which failed to race, 174 Curtis Rathbone

taxis, the latter not racing, while 301 Pete Smith had a Rover P4, which also
failed to race. 182 Mark Thompson had a Vanden Plas 4R, both Charlie Callard and
721 Andrew Newson had Jag MkXs, while 221 Jason Colbert had a Jaguar 420 and 372
Lee Evans a Daimler Sovereign. There was also an amazing showing of 7 Rolls
Royces, 33! Simon Reed, 141 Daniel Steele, 277 Des Owen, 282 John North and 888
Ben Shirley all in Silver Shadows (the former also having raced & wrecked one at
the previous night’s Ipswich Gala night), while 127 Peter Wake and 737 Ian
Crandon both had Silver Clouds. This leaves the top two cars in 61 Ricky
Dominee’s Oldsmobile 98 ambulance and 611 Joe Geeves 1948 Ford V8 Pilot.
The first heat started with a pit bend tangle, with 372 Evans going into the
fence on turn 4, where he was hit by 127 Wake. 888 Shirley stuffed in 710 Topley
behind, before 3 Terry Peacock was stuffed into Shirley by 174 Curtis Rathbone.
196 Palmer then powered into the back of Rathbone to total his Caddy, with 440
Phillips weighing into Palmer. 630 Allard Rosier and 57 Gunter van den Broek
crashed in behind, before 277 Owen was launched towards the fence to bounce
round and join the pile up. Owen got going again to dish out a head-on to 190
Steve Bailey, as 738 Camelleri crashed in, with 204 Callard attacking the
latter. 57 van den Broek then went on opposite up the home straight and dished
out a jacking to 196 Palmer, as 221 Colbert was jacked by 39 Moore. Just 331
Jason Jackson was doing the laps, as 117 Green hit Moore, with 331 Jackson
crashing into Green to complete the jacking train, the red flags coming out with
331 Jackson declared the winner.
Heat 2 saw 471 Terry Freakes mistakenly thinking the race had started for the
Incarace draw, and hooked out 611 Geeves. The race proper started with a turn 1
pile up, as 182 Thompson went fencebound with 757 Jo van Rysselberghe and 640 de
Jager. 611 Geeves and 471 Freakes had a head-on, as 208 Jimmy Randall took 741
Cor Kuys over the infield kerb into turn 3 and into the pit bend fence. 44
Richard Steeghs was put into the pit gate, as 911 Floyd went on opposite to
T-bone 471 Freakes, before meeting 100 Wesley Wambeke head-on. A pile up formed
on the pit bend, with 311 Gary Lown going on opposite to hit 911 Floyd, as 333
Webb T-boned 130 Craig Jackson near the pit gate, before attacking 75 Thacker.
911 Floyd went into reverse to hit 333 Webb, as 592 Mark Marchant met 208
Randall head-on. 311 Lown had a head-on with 203 Darren Nash, as 141 Kuys hit
911 Floyd on the back straight, with 739 Steve Guppy staying out of trouble to
take the win.
61 Dominee attacked 390 Dirk Audenaerde early in the third heat, Dominee getting
spun down the home straight, as 460 Barber followed in 350 Travis Cope on turn
3. 514 Eighteen further blitzed the already wrecked (from the previous night’s
Ipswich) 13 Leistra on the pit bend, as 318 Citro took 290 Leenaerts into the
pit gate, Leenaerts ending spun on the pit bend where he was T-boned by 847
Burbridge, Burbridge then taking damage from 655 Laws. 184 Andy Nutley attacked
7 Tim Munday to spin the latter fencewards on the pit bend, as 847 Burbridge was
T-boned hard by 959 Keoghan. 7 Munday then set off up the back straight and met
737 Crandon in an insane head-on which sadly left Munday’s Jag in a mess, and
Munday receiving some injuries. The race was halted and the roof had to be
removed, with Munday taken away by ambulance – we wish him well. The result was
declared with 348 Sonny Sherwood the winner.
The consolation saw another turn 4 pile up form, with 721 Newton hitting 406
Gillis, as 196 Palmer steamed 152 Broughton into the pile up. 630 Rosier
attacked 710 Topley, only to come under fire from 4 Brian Sayers, as 999
Dijkhuizen was put in near the pit gate by 33! Reed. 208 Randall and 592
Marchant had a head-on, with Marchant getting rammed by 888 Shirley, as 44
Steeghs went on opposite to hit 3 Peacock. 266 Hall steamed 514 Eighteen into
the pit bend, with 160 Patton latched onto the back of Hall, and they crashed
into 721 Newton. 383 Jeff Smith met head-on with 281 Parry, before a jacking
train then formed made up of 888 Shirley, 383 Jeff Smith and 728 Jamie Dinn. 33!
Reed blitzed 160 Patton, to be then jacked by 785 Barry Collins, as 158 Shane
Davies managed to find a way through the chaos to take the win.
The Firecracker XVII Final saw 348 Sherwood lead from pole, as 611 Geeves
attacked 127 Wake on turn 2. 33! Reed followed in 737 Crandon on the pit bend,
as 127 Wake took a further hit from 728 Dinn. 737 Crandon spun out on the home
straight with 318 Citro, the latter then taking a T-bone from 507 Danny Brown,
as 239 Carter piled into 611 Geeves and then 737 Crandon. 331 Jackson fenced 737
Crandon on turn 1, before Crandon rammed 57 van den Broek on the back straight.
33! Reed piled into Crandon, before getting blitzed by 239 Carter, as 158 Davies
hit 592 Marchant. 184 Nutley and 507 Brown met head-on on turn 4, the pair
having another head-on soon after, as 331 Jackson fenced 69 Frankie Whitelock on
turn 1. 239 Carter T-boned 184 Nutley, as 348 Sherwood claimed the title.
The Allcomers/DD wrapped things up with 640 de Jager hitting 611 Geeves in a
turn 4 pile up, as 61 Dominee hit the fence to take a hit from de Jager. 242
Korpiela blitzed 4 Sayers, as 406 Gillis jacked 18 Page, while 39 Moore did
likewise to 757 van Rysselberghe. 384 John Golden weighed into Moore, as 331
Jackson put in a huge hit on 44 Steeghs, sending the latter’s Jag XJ wreck
spinning at speed into the pit bend fence in a spectacular shower of sparks. 728
Dinn fenced 40 Reeder near the pit gate, as 738 Camerelli steamed 266 Hall. 384
Golden again attacked 39 Moore, this time with a T-bone, as 266 Hall blitzed 239
Carter. 331 Jackson then stuffed 737 Crandon into Carter, Crandon taking a hit
from 384 Golden. 331 Jackson was putting in the laps, but met 311 Lown in a
head-on on the last lap. 119 Waterschoot crashed in, as Jackon got going again
to take the chequered. The DD started with only a handful of cars left running,
with Jackson and Lown again meeting head-on, as Golden did likewise with 959
Keoghan. Lown again hit Jackson, before taking a T-bone from Waterschoot, 507
Brown and Golden then having a head-on. Golden dished out a T-bone to Brown, as
Waterschoot hit 738 Camerelli head-on. 384 Golden then expired in a cloud of
steam, leaving 507 Brown the winner.

Heat 1 saw 443 Derry Monk spin 653 Gemma Nelson over the kerb on turn 2, Monk
going on to build up a huge lead. However, just two laps from home, he was
forced to retire to the infield as his car suffered from a mechanical problem,
handing the lead to 733 Danny Wade. Into the last bend, 665 Gary Finch launched
at Wade to send him wide to take the win.
Heat 2 had just three spin-outs all race, with 443 Monk again dominating and
taking the win.
The Final saw a single file clutch start, with 443 Monk starting right at the
back, and he soon blasted his way round the track to lead. 733 Wade spun 616
Jack Wheelwright towards the fence on turn 1, Wheelwright coming back to spin
Wade on turn 4, where Wade reversed Wheelwright into the fence. Wade then rammed
Wheelwright into turn 1 when they got going again to bounce round the corner
against the fence, as 443 Monk took his second win of the day.

Track Championship: Postponed to May 2nd 2009.
Richie Ahern Memorial Allcomers: Cancelled.
Rain earlier in the day and during the meeting left the track in a very poor
state, with the shale thoroughly wet through. There was a good turnout of cars
including a handful of Dutchmen.
The track was graded before heat 1, with 307 Tim Warwick leading the field
round. 215 Geoff Nickolls closed on Warwick, with 97 Murray Harrison also coming
through to take over the lead and on for the win.
308 Stephen Malkin Jnr headed heat 2, as 336 Paul Coysh spun out. 152 Neil
Scothern came through the pack to overhaul Malkin, and he looked to be on for
the win. However, a tangle with the spinning 91 Tony Smith on the town bend
delayed Scothern, and 308 Malkin retook the lead for the win.
The Ben Fund race saw the red tops all out together, with 291 Dan Squire taking
the lead from his pole position start. 21 Mark Gilbank was going well, and used
his front bumper to move up the places, with 4 Dan Johnson and 12 Michael
Scriven amongst those on the receiving end. 21 Gilbank moved into second, with
391 Andrew Smith right behind, but 291 Squire had a good lead. 212 Danny Wainman
hit the fence hard, as 291 Squire encountered backmarkers in the closing stages.
However, he just used his bumper to ensure he stayed in the lead, with 4 Johnson
getting fenced as Squire took the win. 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr dished out a last
bend hit to 380 Steven Cayzer to gain a place.
257 Timmy Aldridge shoved his way through the field to soon lead the
consolation, chased by 242 David Nickolls. A spinning backmarker then caused
Aldridge to go wide on turn 3, and allowed 242 Nickolls through for the lead,
and he went on to take the chequered.
Following the firework display was the Ray Tyldesley / Allan Barker Memorial
Final, with the track now even more waterlogged. 257 Aldridge had a spectacular
start to the race by riding right over a marker tyre on the infield, as 242
Nickolls set the early pace. 215 Nickolls chased his brother in second, while 21
Gilbank made steady progress in the difficult conditions to move into third.
Gilbank then put in the bumper to shift 215 Nickolls wide for second, before the
race was cautioned with 308 Malkin on fire on the back straight. A very poor
rolling lap was allowed to go, as 21 Gilbank hit 242 Nickolls into turn 1 to
lead. 215 Nickolls launched at Gilbank, but spun himself, Gilbank getting away.
However, 391 Smith was finding a turn of speed, and reeled in Gilbank to shunt
him into turn 1. Smith took over the lead, as Gilbank kept his momentum going to
get out of the sludge on the outside of the bend. 391 Smith then hit a
backmarker down the home straight, and Gilbank launched at Smith, sending him
wide into the pit bend. Gilbank retook the lead with 391 Smith giving chase.
Gilbank ensured he stayed ahead by giving the backmarking 2 Paul Harrison a hard
hit into turn 1 on the last lap to take a well deserved win, and ending the best
race of the night. The Steve Froggatt Memorial Trophy went to the highest
scoring white top, this being 308 Malkin.
Following the Final, it was announced the track was in too dangerous a state to
continue racing, with the remaining races being abandoned. It has since been
announced the Track Championship race will now take place at the 2nd May meeting
next year.

Jacklin, nof.
Final: Cancelled.
Allcomers: Cancelled.
A good turnout of Minis, with heat 1 run in very difficult conditions, with the
track in need of being graded. The race was soon halted after 33 Simon Roper had
hit the fence on turn 1, with 226 Billy Webster coping best with the conditions
on the restart to soon lead. 1 Jack Aldridge hooked out 137 Sam Jacklin, as 226
Webster claimed the win.
Heat 2 saw a lot of spins on the first lap. 66 Bob Griffin hit the fence on turn
4, to have 1 Aldridge run into the back of him for a stoppage. 137 Jacklin led
the restart, before he was challenged and passed by 91 Joshua Smith. Another
melee on the exit of turn 4 saw 191 Terri Ann Smith take a whack for another
stoppage. The leading 91 Smith pulled off with mechanical problems on the
restart, handing the lead to 226 Webster, and he went on to take his second win
of the evening chased home by 313 Karl Emmett.
After heat 2, it was decided to abandon the remaining Ministox races.
V8 Hot Stox – British Championship (29 cars – Heat 2 reverse grid of Heat 1,

Championship)
Heat 1 (29 cars): 3 Chris Fort, 161 Mark Allen, 42 Rob Barber, 328 Michael

Andrew, 210 Matt Smith, 42, 116 Senfield Norton.
British Championship: Postponed to April 4th 2009.
The British Championship saw a good turnout of cars, with the heats run over a
random grid and reverse grid to decide the grid order for the Championship race.
Heat 1 saw a very slippery track greet the drivers, with 3 Chris Fort and 575
Darren Cottrill revelling in the conditions. They were soon fighting over the
lead, before 3 Fort made the break, leaving Cottrill to battle with 161 Mark
Allen over second. A turn 3 tangle saw a number of cars hit the fence, as 3 Fort
blasted round the track to lap everyone and take the win.
Heat 2 was soon headed by 179 Richard Arrowsmith, before he was overhauled by
575 Cottrill. 3 Fort closed on Cottrill, but got hindered by backmarkers, and
Cottrill went on to claim the win.
The points from the heats would have put 3 Fort and 575 Cottrill on the front
row, with 328 Michael Boswell and 149 Marc Radforth making up row 2.
Unfortunately, the meeting was abandoned before the race was run, and the
decision has now been made to contest the race at the April 4th meeting.
Stockkarts – World Cup (14 cars)
World Cup: Cancelled.
The Stockkarts came out to line up for their World Cup race, but the conditions
were so poor that once they stopped on the track, they could not get going again
with their wheels just spinning round and getting no traction. It was hoped to
run the race later in the programme, but with the meeting being abandoned, the
Stockkarts never got to compete their World Cup race.

that announced, 43 inserted in 9th)
National Championship (24 cars): 60, 308, 911, 306, 209, 96, 197, 87, 77, 199.
The Spedeworth 2 Litre Hot Rods returned to NIR for the first time since 1999,
with their National Championship up for grabs. The line up included three
drivers from Northern Ireland in 54 Adam Hylands, 968 Glen Heatherington and 995
Davy Clarke.
Heat 1 saw a random grid, with an Incarace draw, which placed 304 Danny Fiske
and 82 Paul Jones on the front row. 82 Jones took an early lead, as 318 Neil
Allgood spun on turn 3. 75 Chris Crane spun on the home straight after a tangle
with 30 Martin Codling, as 310 Sean O’Leary passed Jones for the lead. 204 Carl
Pye took to the outside round the bends, with the track slightly wet from rain
in the morning, and started making up places before a couple of cars tangled in
front of him to send him spinning onto the infield. 199 Scott Bourne hit 82
Jones into turn 3 to spin him out when running in third, Bourne being black
flagged, as 98 Kieran Murphy and 75 Crane both spun in separate incidents. 310
O’Leary took the flag, as 43 Paul Wright hit 306 William Reed into the last
bend, Reed holding on to cross the line in second. Post race scrutineering
revealed a technical infringement on the O’Leary car, and he was disqualified,
with 306 Reed announced as the winner.
The grid was reversed for heat 2, with 87 Jason Busby and 130 Andy Lane going
off the front, Busby making the break at the drop of the green. 60 Mark Paffey
and 197 Michael Pagden battled with Lane over second for most of the race, as 22
Dan Payne spun in the pack, the traffic somehow managing to miss him. 75 Crane
and 98 Murphy both spun off turn 2, with 54 Hylands also spinning at the
opposite end of the track. In the closing laps, 60 Paffey and 197 Padgen found a
way past 130 Lane, before 66 Graham Fulker suffered a puncture and bounced off
the fence on turn 2, coming to a halt down the back straight, where an unsighted
310 O’Leary ran into the back of him at speed. The race was stopped with just a
lap to run, and the result declared with 87 Busby the winner, while 60 Paffey
was dropped a couple of places from second for contact.
The points from the heats placed 60 Paffey on pole and 308 Mark Cooper on his
outside, with row 2 made up of 43 Wright and 306 Reed. The race started with a
crash on turn 2, leading to a pile up on the back straight for an early
stoppage, with both 110 Jason Wilks and 303 Gavin Botfield picking up damage to
exclude them from the restart. 60 Paffey took an early lead when the race
restarted, with 43 Wright and 308 Cooper in pursuit, as 995 Clarke had a big
spin on the back straight. 43 Wright tried the outside line in a bid for the
lead, but eventually started losing ground, with 308 Cooper going up his inside.
101 Ian Sutton then spun on turn 3 in front of Wright, causing him to spin,
while 60 Paffey stayed ahead to claim the title.

Autospeed driver 960 Dale Moon from the Westcountry.
282 Ross Tyler half spun early in heat 1, as 152 Jordan Aylward hit 170 Kyle
Overy to be back flagged for contact. The race was then halted with debris on
the track, with 298 Jake Walker heading the restart from 170 Overy and 124
Oliver Skeels. Overy briefly took the lead after diving up the inside, before
Skeels did the same to him on turn 4. Overy came back and found a way past
Skeels, again on the inside, as 298 Walker spun 219 Ben Lewis-Thompson in the
battle for third to receive the black flag, as 170 Overy went on for the win.
264 Daniel Whorton-Eales soon led the second heat, and fended off 128 Craig
Banwell for most of the race. 237 Ryan Starr spun exiting turn 2, as 175 Tyler
Collison also spun on turn 1. 128 Banwell nearly found a way up the inside of

Stuart Olding.
This was the 2 Litre Stock Cars first ever meeting at Northampton, with a
slightly wet track greeting the drivers for heat 1. A lively start saw 505
Martyn Bell take an early spin on turn 4 to reverse all the way down the home
straight before spinning round to rejoin the race, although he did manage to
veer across the track doing this and was lucky not to get collected by the
traffic. 894 Mark Almeida and 305 Billy Wood were putting in the hits to move
through the field, with 114 Adam Ball setting the pace. 635 Phil Beldom spun in
the pack, as 305 Wood and 120 Craig Rose had a good battle later in the race, as
114 Ball claimed the win.
101 Davy Evans and 894 Almeida were using their bumpers in the second heat, as
505 Bell hooked out 120 Rose on turn 1. 121 Gareth Parker was nearly fenced on
turn 1, as 654 Dean Baker took up the running, chased by 635 Beldom. Beldom put
in the bumper on the last bend, but Baker rode out the hit to take the
chequered.
120 Rose spun on the home straight early in the Final, and took a T-bone from
121 Parker to spin him round. 286 Darren Elding was spun on turn 2 to take a
clobbering from the pack, as 350 Stuart Olding spun on turn 3, the race being
cautioned for some on-track debris. 114 Ball headed the restart, but was
overhauled by 14 Daniel Langley, who went on for the win, while the battle
between 350 Olding and 654 Baker continued until after the red flags were shown
to end the race.

Clelland, 22 Chris Deverick, 715 Mick Prince.
Heat 2 (17 cars): 348, 898, 6 Mark Holdsworth, 741, 730, 67 Rickie Beasley, 13
Darren Kingston, 715, nof.

nof. Last Car: 730 from 67. Most Destructed: 67.
The Banger line-up included visitors from Standlake, RDC and Trackstar, with the
top car being the Porsche 924 of 253 Tony Last.
Heat 1 saw a number of drivers fail to grid, with 515 Gareth Flatters setting
the pace. 715 Mick Prince and 147 Darren Griffin both spun, as 515 Flatters went
on to take the chequered to end a quiet race with just a few spins, and
celebrated his win by fencing 147 Griffin, before taking a hit from 741 Luke
Parfitt.
87 Ryan Jackson was fenced early in heat 2, as 515 Flatters followed in 22 Chris
Deverick. 595 Andrew Tarn was spun into the infield tyres by 387 Glyn Stanton to
tip up onto two wheels, as the race settled down. The leading 898 Andrew Battle
was caught in the latter stages by 348 Sonny Sherwood, Sherwood going up his
inside for the lead and the win.
391 Adam Bligdon and 595 Tarn found the fence as the Final got underway, as 253
Last made it out for his first race of the day, only to be fenced on turn 2. The
race was halted to check on Bligdon and Tarn, with 294 Alan Tarn hooking out 515
Flatters on the back straight, Flatters getting his revenge with a hard fencing
to Tarn on turn 1. 715 Prince then followed in 22 Deverick on turn 1, as 348
Sherwood overhauled the leading 6 Mark Holdsworth to take his second win of the
day. The usual suspects then dived for the infield before the DD started, with
595 Tarn and 715 Prince meeting head-on. This left just three cars in the
running, with 308 Kevin Baxter and 730 Deane Mayes having a head-on, Baxter
expiring, leaving Mayes to dish out a couple of jackings to 67 Rickie Beasley
for the win.
Bombers (39 cars)
Heat 1 (37 cars): 288 Aaron Philips, 284 Liam Eady, 29 Ryan Davies, 286 Daniel
Phillips, 711 Glenn Bell, 62 Graham Rainbow, 905 Shane Johnson, 837 Martin Wesby,
744 Ben Jordan, 103 Patrick Bryan.
Heat 2 (33 cars): 29, 284, 444 John Thorogood, 201 Gary Chapman, 426 Mark Pope,
103, 905, 65 Dean Pratt, 837, 77 Rob Stark.
Final into DD (34 cars): 711, 196 Wayne Davies, 65, 32 Shayne Tilson, 90 Joseph
Holmes, 4 John Easthope, 291 Dean Haddon, 287 Dean Quinsee, 283 Jamie Gibson,
103. Last Car: 288 from 283. Most Destructed: 77.
A good turnout of cars, the line-up including visitors from Trackstar and
Spedeworth. Heat 1 saw 217 Mick Thorogood and 289 Anthony Phillips tangle to hit
the fence on turn 2, 744 Ben Jordan fencing the recovered 289 Phillips a couple
of laps later on turn 1. The lively Jordan then put in 20 Daniel Chapman, as 288
Aaron Phillips took the flag before getting caught up in a turn 1 pile up.
Heat 2 was a quieter race, although it started with a turn 1 pile up which soon
cleared, with 29 Ryan Davies taking the win on his debut.
The Final kicked off with 905 Shane Johnson spinning on turn 1 to cause a small
pile up, with 426 Mark Pope spinning on turn 1 to tip onto two wheels. 744
Jordan dished out a fencing to 62 Graham Rainbow, before the red flags came out
for 201 Gary Chapman, who had taken a knock on turn 4. 711 Glenn Bell led the
restart, as 309 Leslie Baverstock and 244 Mark Curtis crashed on the home
straight. 284 Liam Eady hit the fence on turn 3, with the race being halted on
the last lap as he required assistance, with 711 Bell declared as the winner.
The DD started with 131 Pete Hamner fencing 42 Richard Tadman, while 90 Joseph
Holmes did likewise to 426 Pope on turn 3. 286 Daniel Phillips and 77 Rob Stark
met head-on on turn 2, with 196 Wayne Davies weighing into Phillips as 20
Chapman attacked Stark. 131 Hamner hit 244 Curtis, as 291 Dean Haddon and 90
Holmes had a head-on on the infield. 283 Jamie Gibson jacked 711 Bell, as 90
Holmes jacked 103 Patrick Bryan. 286 Phillips weighed into 90 Holmes, leaving
just four cars in the running. 291 Haddon T-boned 90 Holmes to expire, Holmes
going on to hit 288 Phillips head-on. Holmes also went out at this point,
leaving team-mates 283 Gibson and 288 Phillips to have one last head-on, from
which 288 Phillips backed off for the win.
Kings Lynn – Sat 25th October
F1 Stock Cars – Driver of the Year (39 cars – 1st 10 from heats and cons to
Final)
Stars of Tomorrow (17 cars): 307 Tim Warwick, 246 Ian Brickley, 441 John Lawn,
215 Geoff Nickolls, 189 George Heppenstall, 69 Steve Hattersley, 249 Jonathan
Gibson, 11 Neil Scriven, 136 Steve Jacklin, 330 Graham Wagstaff.
Heat 1 (16 cars): 242 David Nickolls, 215, 97 Murray Harrison, 34 Mal Brown, 84
Tom Harris, 11, 335 Mark Woodhull, 33 Peter Falding, 337 Dave Willis, 136.
Heat 2 / Driver of the Year (18 cars): 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr, 391 Andy Smith,
12 Michael Scriven, 441, 2 Paul Harrison, 55 Craig Finnikin, 212 Danny Wainman,
244 Mick Rogers, nof.
Cons (12 cars): 380 Steven Cayzer, 249, 16 Matt Newson, 446 Joe Booth, 330, 91
Tony Smith, 69, 246, 41 Robert Broome, nof.
Final (24 cars): 249, 441, 215, 515, 34, 33, 55, 12, 380, 212.
Allcomers (22 cars): 391, 97, 380, 84, 515, 335, 249, 12, 212, 11.
The first race was the Stars of Tomorrow race for the white and yellow tops,
with 307 Tim Warwick leading and opening up a gap over the pack. 11 Neil Scriven
T-boned 41 Robert Broome, as 246 Ian Brickley headed the chasing pack and began
to close on Warwick. Warwick took things steady over the last few laps, with
Brickley then getting closer. Into the last bend Brickley managed to put in the
bumper, but 307 Warwick rode out the hit to take the win, with his prop then
breaking after he had crossed the line.
242 David Nickolls soon headed the first heat, with a good battle amongst the
pack. 97 Murray Harrison came through to chase the front runners, and managed to
shift 34 Mal Brown wide to move into third. In the closing laps, 242 Nickolls,
brother 215 Geoff Nickolls and 97 Harrison were in close formation, but not near
enough to each other to put in the bumper, 242 Nickolls taking the flag.
Heat 2 also doubled up as the Driver of the Year race, open to drivers who have
a good attendance record at Kings Lynn. 330 Graham Wagstaff made a good start to
lead the field, as a tangle on turn 1 saw 16 Matt Newson ride over another car.
238 Richard Bryan was left stranded as 441 John Lawn put in the bumper hard on
turn 3. 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr and 391 Andy Smith came through the places
quickly, before Wainman stuffed Smith wide on turn 1 to gain the upper hand. 330
Wagstaff had a good lead, but clipped a marker tyre into turn 3 to complete a
full roll. He managed to get going again, albeit with a somewhat squashed
aerofoil, but his lead was gone (and he was then black flagged for the damaged
aerofoil), with 515 Wainman taking over, chased by 391 Smith. From then on,
Wainman had the race sewn up and went on to claim victory.
A rather small field of a dozen cars for the consolation, with the now wingless
330 Wagstaff setting the pace, as 380 Steven Cayzer surged through the field. 4
Dan Johnson tangled with 73 Rob Cowley, before 41 Robert Broome, 16 Matt Newson
and 446 Joe Booth got into a muddle exiting turn 4, with the latter pair hitting
the home straight fence. 330 Wagstaff held off 380 Cayzer for a lap, before
Cayzer went by, Wagstaff trying to put in a hit on the road bend, only to again
clip a marker tyre and spin to lose places, with 380 Cayzer going on for the
win.
The Final was a fast but dusty affair, with 441 John Lawn soon taking up the
running, as the star men got in each others way. 515 Wainman again put 391 Smith
wide into turn 1, before Smith lost further ground after being spun and T-boned
by 2 Paul Harrison on turn 4. 249 Jonathan Gibson caught and passed 441 Lawn
after putting in the bumper, and then pulled clear. Gibson went on to take the
chequered and his second consecutive Final win, with 441 Lawn and 215 Nickolls
the placemen for a yellow top 1-2-3. 34 Brown held off 515 Wainman until the
last lap in the battle for fourth, Wainman pushing up the inside on the last
bend.
The Allcomers had a slippery start, with the track now having been watered, with
391 Smith blasting round quicker than anyone. 97 Harrison also went well and
soon took the lead, with 391 Smith reeling him in. The bumper went in and Smith
took over, Harrison tapping Smith back into turn 3, but Smith was away to go on
for the win.
2 Litre Pre-70 Bangers (57 cars)
Heat 1 (25 cars): 303 Brian Cope, 88 Alan Read, 292 Keith Saunders, 233 Rob
Aldridge, 152 James Dillon, 456 Steve Allen, 293 Nick Houghton, 66 Dave Ivatt,
715 Mick Prince, 130 Chris White.
Heat 2 (29 cars): 94 Jamie Wyatt, 970 Bob Turner, 370 Mark French, 461 Nathan
Knowles, 312 Tom Reynolds, 282 Bobby Daniels, 401 Steve Hemmings, 385 Roy Gedge,
501 Steve Kaye, nof.
Heat 3 (28 cars): 293, 152, 25 Mark Thomas, 88, 456, 440 Pete McVay, 233, 66,
303, 292.
Heat 4 (24 cars): 379 David Sherwin, 361 Chris Walden, 333 James Cooke, 311 Gary
Lown, 370, 312, 401, 869 Sam Steele, 791 Nicky Young.
Final (30 cars): 361, 293, 312, 440, 379, 292, 715, 572 Paul Scully, 155 Scott
Hamilton, nof.
DD (16 cars): 595 Andrew Tarn from 902 Tony Lowther / 267 Martin French.
A good turnout of Pre-70 Bangers, including a six car showing from the Mayfield
Mob from Scotland.
On the car front, there was a good showing of Farinas, the Morris Oxford fintail
of 970 Bob Turner was probably the pick. Other cars worthy of note were the Mk2
Consul of 267 Martin French, the Mk2 Cortina estate of 461 Nathan Knowles, the
Mk4 Zodiac of 88 Alan Read, and the Mk3 Zephyrs of 125 Roy Preece and 310 Luke
Holdsworth. 312 Tom Reynolds returned last year’s Standard Vanguard Phase 2, 776
Ady Groom arrived late with a bubble Cambridge, but failed to race, and 168
Calvyn Girling had a used Wolseley 15/50. 385 Roy Gedge had a rare cyclops Rover
P4, 282 Bobby Daniels a Wolseley 4/44, 431 Damien Thorpe an Austin Somerset, 673
Darren Fendley a Peugeot 403, 902 Tony Lowther a bubble Humber Hawk and 928
Richard Steele a Sunbeam Rapier, although this did not race. This left the top
car, the 1936 Austin 10 of 581 Simon Fixter.
The field was split into two, with the larger cars in Heats 1 and 3, while the
smaller cars would compete in heats 2 and 4, with an all-in Final and DD.
Heat 1 saw an early melee, as 77 Gill took a jacking, and then attacked 155
Scott Hamilton as he rejoined the race. Fellow Mobster 274 John Taylor weighed
into Gill in retaliation, as the leading 152 James Dillon was spun out. 303
Brian Cope took over the lead, with 88 Read giving chase, and overhauled Cope
with a lap to go. However, Cope came back and barged Read out into turn 1 to
retake the lead. Read squeezed Cope fencewards exiting turn 4 for the last time,
but Cope held on to take the win.
The second heat saw the pack get into a tangle off turn 4, with 390 Dave Gibson
getting T-boned and rolled, with 379 David Sherwin also going over in a
spectacular double roll. The race was halted, with 311 Gary Lown spinning 581
Fixter on the road bend on the restart, Fixter then taking a head-on from 272
Gary Murrell exiting turn 2 before spinning back round to be blitzed by 320
Daryl Wall, leaving the ancient Austin totalled. 282 Daniels then followed in
677 Mark Bradshaw on the pit bend, before 370 Mark French was stuffed hard into
385 Gedge to jack the latter’s P4. The red flags then came out with 677 Bradshaw
in trouble, the race eventually being called when it became apparent that
Bradshaw unfortunately needed the ambulance. The win went to 94 Jamie Wyatt,
while Bradshaw had to be extracted from his car, but after a trip to hospital,
he was well enough to return to the stadium later in the evening.
77 Gill had an early spin in the third heat, as 233 Rob Aldridge stuffed 366
Keith Phillips into abandoned cars on turn 4. 185 Polly Reade steamed 366
Phillips, as 902 Lowther shed a wheel. The race was halted before the end with
442 Mark Dickson on fire, with the result declared in favour of 293 Nick
Houghton.
Heat 4 kicked off with 312 Reynolds hitting 970 Turner, as 361 Chris Walden
steamed 695 Mark Mason. 501 Steve Kaye twice spun into the marker tyres on turn
1, and on the second occasion was blitzed by 282 Daniels. Daniels was then hit
by 390 Gibson, before 525 Wesley Starmer went piling in to roll himself all the
way over! Starmer then went on opposite to steam 501 Kaye, Kaye then taking a
mighty head-on from 791 Nicky Young’s Volvo Amazon, leaving Kaye’s A40 severely
wrecked. The reds came out to check on Kaye, and he soon emerged unscathed, the
result being taken at this point with 379 Sherwin the winner.
A heavily overwatered track for the Final made things very slippery, as the Mob
feuded with 595 Andrew Tarn and 401 Steve Hemmings on the infield. 370 French
was spun hard into the marker tyres to tip onto two wheels, as 361 Walden took
the win in a fairly quiet race.
The DD saw 292 Keith Saunders attack 155 Hamilton from the start, as 791 Young
did likewise to 595 Tarn. 272 Murrell hit 385 Gedge, as 902 Lowther blitzed 77
Gill on turn 4. 791 Young went on to jack 440 Pete McVay and then 152 Dillon, as
292 Saunders sent 155 Hamilton into the fence on the home straight, allowing 902
Lowther to dish out a heavy blitzing to Hamilton. 385 Gedge hit Hamilton on
opposite, before being hit head on by 272 Murrell. Things then went a little
quiet, with 292 Saunders T-boning the now empty 77 Gill Cortina, before 66 Dave
Ivatt hit 272 Murrell and then 611 Joe Geeves. 272 Murrell then T-boned 902
Lowther, the return hit soon coming, Lowther going on to hit 461 Knowles
head-on. 267 French just managed to hit Lowther, the latter then attacking 595
Tarn. The three cars left were barely moving, but 267 French managed to give 902
Lowther a head-on on turn 1, before 595 Tarn managed to coax his ailing A60
round the track to hit Lowther and take the win.
Wimbledon – Sun 19th October
1300 Stock Cars – World Final (36 cars)
World Final (35 cars): 64 Mark Whybra, 23 Lee Pearce, 745 Daniel Bennett, 71
Steve O'Dell, 392 Julian Smith, 53 Paul Anscombe, 442 Simon Berry, 409 Joey
Collins, 690 Jason Askew, 40 Steve Marten.
Heat 1 (27 cars): 191 Aaron Morris, 232 Daniel Wenn, 79 Barry Radcliffe, 6 Simon
Welton, 33 Sean Fiske, 23, 96 Michael McCarthy, 4 Paul Brown, 40, 514 Danny Orr.
Heat 2 (22 cars): 79, 6, 191, 53, 23, 33, 532 Bobby Davies Jnr, 40, 686 Pete
Beldom, 409 Joey Collins.
A good turnout of cars including Scots 614 Sharon Law and 721 Darren McAlpine.
The World Final saw all qualifiers grid except for 498 Niki Jarvis, 511 Jody
Bryant and 181 Sam Mallett, with 232 Daniel Wenn and 191 Aaron Morris on the
front row. 232 Wenn shot into an immediate lead, as 442 Simon Berry hit 191
Morris into turn 1 to send him into the fence, while Berry clipped a marker tyre
to take the turn on two wheels. 64 Mark Whybra moved into second and slotted in
behind Wenn, as 154 James Stace dangerously went on opposite and completed a
couple of laps on the infield before incredibly attacking against the flow on
the back straight! It is thought he was after 64 Whybra, but he actually
collected 686 Pete Beldom, luckily not in a square head-on, to put Beldom into
the fence, together with 8 Daniel Damon, with the race being halted. Fortunately
all drivers exited OK. The restart saw 232 Wenn and 64 Whybra still in first and
second, with 79 Barry Radcliffe running third ahead of 23 Lee Pearce. 148 Sam
Hepburn did a spot of lurking, waiting for the leaders, and attacked 232 Wenn as
tried to pass into turn 3, taking him out of the lead. Whybra took over,
spinning 148 Hepburn out on turn 4, as Wenn then put in a revenge ram on Hepburn
into turn 3, only to bounce off and spin himself into the fence. 53 Steve
Anscombe and 16 Gary Aylward both spun out, as 79 Radcliffe also went out, with
23 Pearce looking to close on Whybra. Into the last lap, 16 Aylward cut across
turns 1 and 2 to hit Whybra into the fence under the scoreboard, with 148
Hepburn also T-boning Whybra, both cars getting airborne. 23 Pearce took the
flag, but the “Malcolm Girling” rule was applied as Whybra had been taken out
illegally, with the result being taken back to the last full lap. Therefore,
Whybra was crowned as World Champion, with much booing on his victory lap from
the mostly Southern crowd.
The first heat kicked off with 191 Morris being spun down the home straight, as
436 Robbie Cole was fenced on the exit of turn 2. A huge shunt on the next lap
caused a massive crash as the pack collided with Cole, sending both 569 James
Radcliffe and 6 Simon Welton rolling onto their sides in a spectacular incident!
The race was halted, with 345 Trevor Canfield heading the restart. 745 Daniel
Bennett dished out a big hit to 721 McAlpine on turn 3, before Bennett went into
the fence on turn 2, where a tangle in the pack sent 532 Bob Davis Jnr crashing
into him. 232 Wenn picked up 148 Hepburn and followed him hard into the fence on
turn 1 in a shower of sparks, breaking Hepburn’s front wheel, as the race was
halted to check on 745 Bennett. 96 Michael McCarthy led the restart, before
passed by 33 Sean Fiske. 6 Welton cracked 23 Pearce hard into turn 1, as 690
Jason Askew and 514 Danny Orr both went spinning at speed. 442 Berry hooked out
71 Steve O’Dell off turn 4, as 191 Morris took over the lead. 232 Wenn started
to close the gap on the leader, but the laps ran out with Morris taking the win,
while 6 Welton gained a place after a last bend hit on 33 Fiske, Fiske getting
spun after the chequered by 23 Pearce.
385 Kevin Thurlow was fenced on turn 2 at the start of the second heat, kicking
off a monster pile up, but this managed to clear. 345 Canfield and 364 Nathan
Olden were both spun out, as 514 Orr was taken out on the back straight. 148
Hepburn also spun before getting picked up by 232 Wenn again and taken into the
fence on turn 3, Hepburn bouncing off the wires, while Wenn got the worst off it
and tipped onto two wheels as he collected a post. 148 Hepburn then came off the
infield near the pit gate to try and take out Wenn as he got going again, only
he missed! 79 Radcliffe took the win, while 23 Pearce gave 33 Fiske a big last
bend hit to gain a place, ending a superb session of Stock Car racing.
Rookie Rods (27 cars)
Heat 1 (27 cars): 167 Gavin Staker, 113 Ben Davies, 609 Keith Wareham, 303 Paul
Francis, 8 Terry Gray, 706 Darren Terry, 267 Dan Vick, 166 David Mathews, 170
Carl Griffiths, 5 Malcolm Burton.
Heat 2 (23 cars): 113, 609, 303, 5, 187 Ted Symes, 167, 164 Jason Warren, 144
Lee Evans, 212 John Smith, nof.
Final (21 cars): 303, 273 Alan Kenton, 167, 5, 609, 267, 170, 153 James Hitchin,
212, 193 Chris Niblett.
A good turnout of Rookies, with 44 Chris Hill bundled out on turn 2 by the pack
in the first heat, before 160 Daniel Keeping collected the fence on the back
straight for a stoppage. The restart was headed by 167 Gavin Staker, as 113 Ben
Davies dropped back when second, before reducing the gap again. 153 James
Hitchen snaked down the back straight, but managed to keep control, as 306 Simon
Williams spun into the fence on turn 2. 418 Daniel Barkham also spun, as 113
Davies was on 167 Staker’s tail in the closing laps, with 609 Keith Wareham
right behind in third, Staker the winner in a close finish.
113 Davies took the lead in the second heat, as 561 Keith Wickens, 166 David
Mathews and 153 Hitchen got caught in a back straight melee, with Wickens
hitting the fence and Mathews spinning across the track. 44 Hill also spun out
and was narrowly missed by Mathews as he spun round to rejoin the race. The
yellow flags came out for Wickens, but Mathews kept flying round the track to
receive the black flag. 113 Davies led the restart, as 609 Wareham overhauled
303 Paul Francis for second. 514 Jamie Blackman then clipped a tyre into turn 1
and went over onto his roof causing another stoppage. The restart saw 113 Davies
hold off 609 Wareham, as a turn 1 tangle saw 170 Carl Griffiths, 273 Alan Kenton
and 8 Terry Gray all spin out, as 113 Davies went on for the chequered.
303 Francis set the pace in the Final, as 418 Barkham, 157 Stuart McDonald and
44 Hill tangled, with Barkham half losing his front bumper. 609 Wareham bumpered
706 Darren Terry to go past, before clipping 113 Davies to spin him out in the
battle for third. 5 Malcolm Burton joined the battle for the lead, and tried to
get through a gap between 167 Staker and 609 Wareham. 8 Gray spun on the back
straight, the pack somehow managing to avoid him, as 113 Davies was bundled onto
the centre green. 303 Francis stayed ahead to take the win, while 609 Wareham
was docked two places for contact.
Bangers (51 cars)
Heat 1 (49 cars): 757 Tom Farren, 937 John Sharp, 410 Billy Wells, 867 James
Morris, 852 Andy Davis, 353 Simon Ruckes, 883 Kelvin Maggs, nof.
Heat 2 (38 cars): 34 Barry Williams, 757, 158 Chris Dingle, 372 James Potts, nof.
Final (22 cars): 112 Pete Stevens, 158, 710 Richard Cooke, 372, nof.
DD (17 cars): 883 from 529 Keith Conlon.
A huge turnout of Bangers, with over half the field being temps, the line-up
including Bovingdon commentator 937 John “King Ed” Sharp. Heat 1 saw all but two
cars grid, and with so much traffic going round, the first three laps were
hardly non-contact, with 887 Richard Moore taking a jacking on the back
straight, as 237 Colin Chapman spun hard into the wires on turn 3. A melee on
the pit bend then saw 6 James Ray roll onto his roof for a stoppage. The restart
was very lively, with the Southern Bandits and Walton Boys having a go at each
other, with 771 James Simpson dishing out a hard fencing to 816 Andrew Freeman
under the scoreboard. 799 Mark McNulty was spun into the back straight fence,
with 551 Christopher Davis also coming to a halt on the back straight before 237
Chapman was spun into him, enabling Davis to pull onto the infield. 62 Phil
Stevens and 372 James Potts tangled on turn 2 to run headlong into the fence on
the exit of the bend, as 105 Lee Edwards was spun into 799 McNulty, with 724
Colin McAllister clipping them to spin into the wires and tip onto two wheels.
353 Simon Ruckes attacked 104 Shane Bird, only to come under fire from 852 Andy
Davis, as 757 Tom Farren took the win, with only 7 cars going the distance.
Heat 2 started with 876 Bob Beswick, 372 Potts and 551 Davis collecting the
marker tyres in separate incidents, as 937 Sharp fenced 410 Billy Wells off turn
2. 353 Ruckes took a jacking, as 529 Keith Conlon, 296 Paul Shepherd and 708
Chris Mansell got involved in a jacking train on turn 3. 417 Harvey Devall
hooked out 105 Edwards, sending him crashing into the stationary 887 Moore on
the back straight, with Devall putting himself into the fence also. In a home
straight melee, 237 Chapman was stuffed hard into 937 Sharp’s passenger doors,
as 34 Barry Williams claimed the win.
867 James Morris steamed 708 Mansell at the start of the Final, as 757 Farren
got stuck in and made good progress from the back of the field. A turn 2 tangle
saw 757 Farren get caught up and he crashed out, as 937 Sharp was spun on the
back straight and collected a fence post hard, with 882 Michael Maggs then
stuffed into Sharp. 882 Maggs was then spun again, this time into 272 Dan
Weathers on the back straight, as 112 Pete Stevens lapped the whole field to
take a convincing victory.
The DD started with a home straight melee, as 867 Morris hit 816 Freeman
head-on. A turn 1 pile up left 34 Williams in the fence, as 6 Ray T-boned 105
Edwards. 752 Robert Harris weighed into 158 Chris Dingle on the back straight,
as Dingle attacked 105 Edwards, while 852 Davis hit 372 Potts and then 730 Matt
Sole. 158 Dingle jacked 604 Charlie Taylor, only to be hit by 6 Ray, Ray then
taking a big hit from 771 Simpson. 529 Conlon T-boned 730 Sole, as 158 Dingle
chased 771 Simpson before T-boning 730 Sole, the latter then taking further
damage via a head-on from 867 Morris. 529 Conlon weighed into Sole, finishing
him off, as 158 Dingle got in a revenge hit on 771 Simpson. 883 Kelvin Maggs hit
529 Conlon, before 771 Simpson gave 604 Taylor a massive head-on, Simpson’s back
wheels leaving the deck on impact, to kill both their cars! 529 Conlon was
barely moving and expired, leaving 883 Maggs the winner, ending a very lively
and highly entertaining session from the Bangers.

Kings Lynn – Sat 11th October
Unlimited Bangers – King of the Fens (34 cars)
King of the Fens (31 cars): 148 Ian Redden, 409 Carl Pears, 169 Lenny Brinkley,
348 Sonny Sherwood, 455 Ricky Finney, 421 Nigel Riley, 40 Lester Freestone, 33!

Allcomers 1 (15 cars): 148, 349 Michael Allard, 33!, 555 Sam Gelsthorp, 536
Annette Nicholls, 185 Polly Reade, nof.
Allcomers 2 (18 cars): 85 James Ellis, 800 Tom Hannah, 555, 349, 536, nof.
DD (8 cars): 421 from 409.
A good turnout of cars, including a number of Bears and Stinkbridge. Top cars
were the used Mazda 929 estate of 40 Lester Freestone and Rolls Royce Silver
Shadow of 285 Sean Dyer. 451 Willy Blackwell returned his Jag 420, while 204
Andy Bailey, 840 Dan Waddingham and 70 Anthony Long all had Mk2 Granny limos. 85
James Ellis had a used Mk1 Granny coupe and 33! Simon Reed returned his Austin 3
Litre, leaving the top car of 311 Gary Lown, a Chevy Caprice.
The King of the Fens saw Stinkbridge and the Bears warring with each other, with
455 Ricky Finney jacking 28 Neill Osborne on turn 1, as 51 Simon Heilds T-boned
133 Karl Day. 451 Blackwell was spun on the home straight into the fence, where
421 Nigel Riley weighed into him. Riley then spun on the back straight to take a
head-on from 742 Ian Gregory, Gregory taking a hit from the following 348 Sonny
Sherwood. A melee on the back straight saw 536 Annette Nicholls collect a marker
tyre. In the closing stages, 285 Dyer was jacked by 421 Riley on the back
straight and stuffed head-on into 451 Blackwell to cause a pile up with 455
Finney also crashing in. The Rolls Royce ended with its back axle hanging out,
as 148 Ian Redden took the title.
A very decimated field for Allcomers 1 saw a few spins, before 455 Finney fenced
169 Lenny Brinkley on turn 3, where 51 Heilds dished out a head-on, as 148
Redden took another win.
Allcomers 2 started with 221 Justin Riley and 421 Riley getting spun into the
marker tyres, before 266 Callum Hall was also sent spinning into the marker
tyres on turn 3 by 85 Ellis. 266 Hall was T-boned by 800 Tom Hannah, as 160
Shayn Winsor avoided the spinning Hall only to get fenced hard by 742 Gregory,
Gregory going on to jack 266 Hall on the next lap before putting himself into
the fence, as the chequered dropped on 85 Ellis.
Just 8 cars for the DD, including 3 Bears and 3 Stinkbridge, with 133 Day, 742
Gregory and 33! Reed having a crash at the start, before 572 Paul Scully hooked
out 51 Heilds to allow 133 Day to give the latter a blitzing. 742 Gregory and
221 Riley had a coming together on the home straight, as 421 Riley attacked 51
Heilds only to come under fire from 409 Pears. Pears went on to T-bone 33! Reed,
as just 4 cars were left running. 421 Riley and 409 Pears met head-on, before
572 Scully attacked Pears and 421 Riley T-boned Reed. Scully shoved Pears
head-on into Riley, before Pears jacked Reed, as all four cars started to give
up the ghost. Riley did not have much steering, as Reed bailed out, Riley then
blitzing the empty Reed car (although there was no way he knew it was empty
having turned round at the other end of the track). Scully also expired, leaving
just Pears and Riley, but Pears was barely moving, and Riley was given the win.
However, he managed eventually to coax his car into one more (gentle) hit,
giving Pears a head-on.
2 Litre Bangers (32 cars)
Heat 1 (26 cars): 572 Paul Scully, 212 Richard Maryon, 11 Pippa Cable, 577 Alfie
Lee, 88 Ash Burton, 1 Chris Walden, 66 Dave Ivatt, 385 Roy Gedge, 90 Simon
Chapman, 309 Grant Williams.
Heat 2 (26 cars): 577, 619 Karl Turnball, 338 Terry Garrod, 11, 1, 132 Robert
James, 212, 66, 715 Mick Prince, 525 Wesley Starmer.
Final (20 cars): 57 Max Stott, 132, 212, 1, 619, 11, 715, 525, 385, 788 Dan
Burton.
A good turnout of cars, with 149 Wayne Bailey’s Colt Sigma the pick of the
field, while 292 Keith Saunders and 572 Paul Scully were in for busy nights,
also racing in the Unlimiteds.
Heat 1 was rather roddy, with 57 Max Stott and 132 Robert James being spun into
the marker tyres, as 788 Dan Burton hit the fence on turn 3. 57 Stott fenced 791
Nicky Young and sent him crashing into 788 Burton, as 572 Scully took the win.
The second heat saw a spectacular crash, as 611 Joe Geeves picked up and fenced
412 Jordan Gay, and managed to go underneath Gay as he hit the fence, Gay ending
sat on top of Geeves roof and bonnet. The pair managed to go from turn 3 all the
way down to turn 1, where they ground to a halt. 72 Gavin Bond fenced 88 Ash
Burton on turn 1 as 385 Roy Gedge jacked 68 Stuart Chapman on the home straight.
The leading 57 Stott had the line in sight, but a well timed attack from 577
Alfie Lee just yards from the finish saw Stott spun out, with Lee taking the
win.
611 Geeves fenced 309 Grant Williams at the start of the Final, as both 149
Bailey and 66 Dave Ivatt spun together out of turn 4. 338 Terry Garrod fenced
577 Lee on turn 1, as 57 Stott took the win.

754 Eamon Howden, 557 John Banwell, 377 Michael Osler, 390 Leyton Hubbert, 190
John Wagstaff, 106 Jamie Stafford, 468 Kelven Nichols.
Heat 1 (32 cars): 377, 754, 428 Lee Sampson, 219 Luke Grief, 360, 512 Darren
Barnett, 156 Darren Goudy, 499 David Aldous, 18 Jamie Clayton, 912.
Heat 2 (31 cars): 499, 360, 428, 156, 511 Craig Barnett, 368 Steve Santry, 311
Steve Newman, 219, 417 Fred Powell, 149 Jamie Sampson.
Final (25 cars): 428, 311, 499, 360, 490 Ian Jarman, 511, 401 Steve Webster,
149, 512, 754.
A good turnout of cars, including 991 Andy Stewart from Northern Ireland.
The first race was for the white and yellow grades, with 991 Stewart also
allowed to compete to gain some experience on the shale. 738 Gary Munns had a
couple of early spins, as 360 Carl Waterfield hooked out 106 Jamie Stafford into
the marker tyres on turn 3. 390 Leyton Hubbert set the pace before the
backmarking 468 Kelven Nichols spun him out, the lead being taken by 377 Michael
Osler. This was short-lived with 468 Nichols again spinning out the leader,
letting 754 Eamon Howden to take the lead. 912 Andi Newman and 171 Kevin Dunne
Jnr then went past in close formation, and the order stayed the same to the
line, Dunne presumably waiting for the last lap to mount an attack, but no lap
boards were shown and the chequered suddenly dropped.
377 Osler took an early lead in heat 1, as 149 Jamie Sampson was spun into the
infield tyres from the pack as it rounded turn 4, Sampson tipping onto two
wheels. 390 Hubbert spun on turn 4, as 317 Dwayne Powell hit the marker tyres to
pull a wheelie. 377 Osler maintained his lead and went on to take his first win
in eight years of racing, while 360 Waterfield got up the inside of 499 David
Aldous on the last bend to half spin Aldous.
The second heat commenced with a big shunt into turn 4, as 428 Lee Sampson ran
hard unsighted into 317 Powell on the back straight. 401 Steve Webster was
fenced hard by 499 Aldous on turn 4, as 390 Hubbert was collected by the
spinning 18 Jamie Clayton on turn 4, causing a stoppage to check on Hubbert. On
the restart, 305 Nigel Parker was fenced on turn 4, as 156 Darren Goudy had a
close battle with 428 Sampson, with Sampson being forced into the back straight
fence at speed. 360 Waterfield, 512 Darren Barnett and 377 Osler had a battle
for the lead and swapped places, before 499 Aldous blasted through and took the
win.
360 Waterfield, 738 Munns and 190 John Wagstaff all spun together early in the
Final, as 991 Stewart was hit on turn 4 by 738 Munns in the pack. 468 Nichols
fenced 861 Ben Royal on turn 4, as a small pile up on turn 1 cleared, with the
yellow flags coming out to check on 991 Stewart. On the restart, 190 Wagstaff
was fenced on turn 4, as 468 Nichols took 417 Fred Powell into the fence on turn
4. Powell was then collected by 557 John Banwell and shunted down the home
straight, with the race being halted to check on his well being, Powell
eventually climbing from his car. The leading 428 Sampson made the break on the
restart, as 557 Banwell spun to take a clobbering from the traffic. 512 Barnett
tried to take out 149 Sampson, but bounced him off the fence, as 428 Sampson
went on to record the win.
