Eight members met promptly at 10-00am at Berkhamstead on a cloudy but not too cold New Year morning. We walked south from Berkhamstead for three or four miles, almost entirely on footpaths. A little to the north of Chesham (Lye Green perhaps?) we found a pub which was not overcrowded and which provided a nice hot lunch. On the way back we passed an ostrich farm - I like the picture below showing Josephine attempting to bond with a few of the ostriches - they do seem to be taking an interest.

The daylight was fast disappearing as we returned to Geoff's place for plenty of hot mince pies - thank you Geoff.
