Hello folks! This website has been primarily designed to show off the historical aspects of the City of Plymouth and if you've an interest in historical sites then this is the place to visit, although I do hope it will serve to whet the appetites of other people who may wish to 'drop in' on our fair city for other, entirely different, reasons.

Plymouth is in the county of Devon on the south-west coast of England and has long been recognised as an important strategic location. As such,it has developed as a military stronghold with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines having been based here for several hundred years and much of the city's history is connected with it's military heritage. As a result of the bombing raids by the German 'Luftwaffe' in 1941,Plymouth lost many of it's old buildings in the area around the city centre but those that survived will form the basis of this tour. Please click on the coloured balls to navigate through the tour and we start at the top link marked "Plymouth Hoe & The Citadel".It just remains for me to say that I hope you enjoy this introduction to the historic sights of Plymouth.

On this tour,we'll be visiting the following places of interest. Each page gives you the option of either continuing onto the next section of the tour or returning to this page where you may select any of the other specific links at random. There is also a link at the bottom of this page for those wishing to exit the site altogether.
