Create a new mailbox
You can have unlimited email addresses if you are an annual customer and up to five mailboxes with your BTinternet account if you pay monthly, including your primary mailbox (the one you chose when you first registered).
The creation of your home page uses one of your mailbox names in its URL, or Internet address. So businesses, for example, could create an e-mail name which uses their company name. For example:www.btinternet.com/~acme
You can of course still use this e-mail name (e.g.acme) for sending and receiving e-mail.
Family members can each have their own personal e-mail box with their own unique password.
Individuals can stream their mail by subject. For example: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Businesses can have mailboxes for each part of their business. For example: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Corporate account customers can have mailboxes in the following format: email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
To create a new mailbox, go to the Add a Mailbox page.
Please note that your new e-mail name (the section before the @btinternet.com) cannot be longer than 32 characters. This facility is not available for Plan 180 customers.
Once you have set up one or more additional mailboxes, you will need to configure your e-mail program. Click on the e-mail program you are using from the list below:
Microsoft Internet Mail (Windows 95)
Internet Mail and News does not support Multiple Mailboxes. To use an alternative e-mail address, click on the Mail menu, then Options, Server. In the POP3 Account field, enter the new mailbox name (without '@btinternet.com'). In the Password field, enter the password for this new mailbox.
