How do I set up Microsoft Exchange to look at my primary mailbox?

  1. From the Control Panel window, doubleclick the Mail or Mail and Fax icon.
  2. Click Show Profiles.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Ensure that only Internet Mail is selected, then click Next.
  5. Enter the name of the required mailbox owner as the Profile Name, then click Next.
  6. Check the Modem box, then click Next.
  7. From the drop-down menu, select BTinternet, then click Next.
  8. Enter mail.btinternet.com as the name, then click Next.
  9. Choose a method of message transfer (we recommend off-line), then click Next.
  10. Enter your full e-mail address, including @btinternet.com.
  11. Enter your name as you would like it to appear in your mail messages, then click Next.
  12. Enter your Mailbox name, not including @btinternet.com.
Note: If you leave the password blank, you will be prompted for it when you collect your mail.
  13. Type your address book name as C:\Exchange\mailboxname.pab, replacing the mailboxname with your mailbox name, then click Next.
  14. Type your Personal Folders as C:\Exchange\mailboxname.pst, replacing the mailboxname with your mailbox name, then click Next.
  15. Leave Do not add Inbox to the StartUp group checked, then click Next.
  16. Click Finish.
  17. From the drop-down menu, select your recently selected profile as the one to open when starting Microsoft Exchange.
  18. Click Close.

You will now be able to access your e-mail when you doubleclick on the Inbox icon or choose Microsoft Exchange from the Start menu.
