BTinternet offers weekend and weekday evening free access to the Internet using an 0800 number.* BTinternet customers now enjoy a new low daytime access rate of just 2p per minute (5p minimum charge). Customers who subscribe to BTinternet for SurfTime and those who pay by credit card can also take advantage of free evening and weekend access. To benefit from this new rate, you will need to set your computer to dial a new access number.
How do I set up my computer for 0800 access?
From midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday and from 6pm until midnight Mondays to Fridays, customers can access the Internet free of call charges after they have downloaded our special software.
All subscription-paying BTinternet monthly and annual customers will be able to access the service via an 0800 number.
Eligible customers, will need to download new dial-in software which will place an icon on their desktop entitled "BTinternet FreeCall", enabling access to BTinternet over the weekend and on weekday evenings using an 0800 number. To access at any other time you should use your usual method.

Q. How will the service work? Can I stay connected all weekend and evening? A. The number of 0800 access calls made by users under this scheme is unlimited. However, to ensure optimum network availability the service will include a 'time out' facility. The service will automatically disconnect after two hours of usage to make efficient use of the network. Customers can redial immediately

Q. Are 128k connections eligible? A. You can only dial into a single ISDN channel (64k) via the ISDN 0800 number.
Q. Are BT staff & pensioners eligible? A. No, only subscription-paying account holders. You may change your account and pay for access to qualify for the 0800 access.
