BTinternet Surftime and Surf Packages
Now that you have registered you need to update your "Remote Access" or "PPP" settings to use your details.
From the "Apple Menu" select "Control Panels" and then "Remote Access" or "PPP" option. From the "File" pull down menu select "Configurations". This will display a list of your configurations.
1. Highlight the Default entry and click the "Duplicate" button.
2. When prompted "Duplicate Default" as: "type BTinternet SurfTime and click the "OK" button".
3. Highlight the BTinternet SurfTime entry and click the "Make Active" button.
4. Ensure "Registered user" is ticked. In the Name field enter your full email name (please ensure you include the @btinternet.com).
5. In the Password field enter your password and tick save password box.
6. In the Number field enter 0844 0404005.
7.Select File pull down menu and select Configurations, you will be prompted to save changes. Save the changes.
8.Highlight BTinternet SurfTime entry and click "Make Active" button.
This is the number you should use to access BTinternet Evenings and Weekends. For daytime access your computer will need to dial a different number so you should create another entry to use in the daytime.
From the "Apple Menu" select "Control Panels" and the "Remote Access" or "PPP" option. From the "File" pull down menu select "Configurations", this will display a list of your configurations. Or it will just contain a single entry called Default.
Create a new configuration by selecting the BTinternet SurfTime entry and clicking the Duplicate button. You will be asked to enter a name for this new configuration. A good choice would be BTinternet Daytime.
Check that the new entry is selected in the list box and click the "Make Active" button.
In the Number field enter 0845 756 0000.
Select "File pull down menu" and select "Configurations", you will be prompted to save changes, Save the changes.
Highlight BTinternet Daytime entry and click "Make Active" button.
When connecting to BTinternet, ensure that you make the appropriate entry active so you connect via the appropriate number dependant on time of day.
You may want to configure your mail software to access BTinternet Mail. The help section provides guidance on how to do this.
